From a coach's perspective, one of the more frustrating situations in youth and high school sports is when parents undermine coaches by openly complaining about them to their child. Don't get me wrong, coaches and teachers certainly don't bat 1.000. The pay scales for minor-league baseball players has been a subject of much consternation around baseball. Players can make sub-poverty wages, as they draw checks solely during the season. As well, recent legislation at the federal level means they're not eligible for minimum-wage protections. Chalk a win for the Blue Jays and a major loss for all other major league teams.
