Kentucky Commissioner
Kristen Branscum chairs the Travel South Earned Media Committee. She reported the Domestic output for 2016 was more than three times the ad
value than 2015. In total,
TSUSA published more than
430 articles worth $18.5 million
ad equivalency. These articles
were the direct result of hosted
journalists at the 2016
Domestic Showcase in Winston-Salem. Thanks to Laurie Rowe Communications, agency of record for TSUSA, for their ever-increasingly fine-tuned journalist invitation list.
Thank you for making Domestic Showcase 2017 one of the biggest, most sought-after marketplaces in the country. Missouri Division of Tourism and partner Branson
Convention & Visitors Bureau truly did an outstanding job. The twelve months of hard work they put in paid off.
And a shout out to Monday's Missouri luncheon - what a show-stopper from start to finish! >

Broadening partnerships down-under
We completed a very exciting pilot project with partner Excite Holidays in Australia and New Zealand. The promotion kicked off mid-February and included a microsite, a two-week takeover of agent channels, webinars, newsletters, in-store flyers, hotel banners on agent search pages, curated content and social media.
Excite Holiday has already seen a 34% increase in bookings in 2016 vs. 2015 - and we are just getting started, expecting another big spike in 2017 from this promotion. >

$750,000 of advertising booked in Branson
Coordination, purposeful direction and leveraging joint promotions are three of the primary objectives the Travel South USA organization adopted in 1965; and they still remain our mission 52 years later.
The Ultimate Ad Challenge (UAC), celebrating its 10th anniversary, is built exactly for this purpose. >

Showcasing the South around the globe
Travel South's Domestic Showcase kicked off our year, and now we head around the U.S. and globe, giving operators and agents a reason to sell the South.
Having just returned from
WTM Latin America, we met with many tour operators and tour travel trade entities that are extremely excited about the South. All signs point to a surge in inbound tourism from Brazil in 2017 and moving forward. It looks like the Brazilian recession and its effects on outbound tourism are ebbing.

Winner, Winner!
Travel South's "Great American Road Trip - Savory Southern Cuisine" video won a Bronze Telly award in the category of Tourism/General Travel. The Silver Telly is the top honor so we are pretty psyched! Congrats and thanks to Miles for all their work on this! View the video:
