In addition to the Signature events, numerous special events are planned during the three-day. The U.S. Civil Rights Trail, a topic of much discussion this year, will be explored; learn how the Trail came into fruition and the subsequent enormous attention from the media and operators.

Motorcoach Group Tourist Research
Tours rack up impressive numbers

What is the economic impact of motorcoach group tourism in Travel South member states?  Close to $30 billion. In 2016, close to 200,000 people were directly supported or worked for firms that supplied goods and services to companies working with motorcoach passengers.

Last year, accommodations in Travel South states provide motorcoach tourists with an estimated 14.5 million room nights annually.

Check out this fascinating study from the ABA Foundation on the economic impact motorcoaches have on the South.

Tourism Cares Visits the South

Thirteen years after Hurricane Katrina and 15 years after the first Tourism Cares volunteer program, TourismCares will revisit The Crescent City, exploring ongoing lessons and opportunities in recovery, and celebrate the towns 300th anniversary.

Day one will offer educational sessions, affording the opportunity to learn from the situation that arose from the flooding. Day two, plan to roll up your sleeves and help the New Orleans community.

Sept. 20-21, 2018, New Orleans Marriott
