This has been a very busy week here in the office. In addition to the groups we have leaving for our Alaska cruise/tours every weekend, we have four groups now traveling in Europe. Every weekend I’m helping to load and dispatch our buses. It’s been nice to see a lot of familiar faces and to meet our new Travel With Alan travelers.
I just received a “last minute” offer that you won’t believe...I barely believe it myself, for a 14-day cruise to Alaska in a balcony stateroom! Join our group on August 28th for a 14-night cruise, northbound and southbound, from Vancouver, British Columbia to Whittier, Alaska and back again. This cruise will sail out of Vancouver’s Canada Place Pier and take you on a 7-night northbound cruise to Ketchikan, Juneau, and Skagway. You will have beautiful scenic cruising in the Inside Passage as well as Glacier Bay National Park and College Fjord. Your first 7-night voyage will end in Whittier, Alaska. You will have a full day in Whittier, until 8:00 PM. You will then have a 7-night southbound cruise to the same ports of call, with the exception of a visit to the magnificent Hubbard Glacier instead of College Fjord. I will tell you that this cruise has some duplication. You will visit Ketchikan, Juneau and Skagway two times. Then again, if the weather is poor the first time, maybe it will be better the second time. Or maybe you can’t decide which tour to take…you can do both. Or maybe you just enjoy the free time in port. When you see the price of this cruise, it won’t even matter! There will also be a duplication of the onboard shows. But this cruise is aboard one of Holland America Line’s newest ships, the ms Nieuw Amsterdam. In addition to the shows in the main theatre, the Nieuw Amsterdam features the Music Walk. This is a series of lounges onboard including Lincoln Center Stage, featuring classical music, B.B. King’s Blues Club, featuring rhythm and blues music, and Billboard Onboard, featuring dueling grand pianos. A cruise like this gives you time to experience all of the entertainment options.
Now, here’s the best part…The cost for this full 14-day back-to-back cruise is just $799 per person, based on double occupancy. Government taxes, fees, and port expenses of $475 per person are additional. This price includes the full 14-night cruise, an upgrade to a balcony stateroom, and round-trip motorcoach transfers from the Seattle area to the Canada Place Pier in Vancouver. This is unbelievable. For single travelers, the single supplement for this cruise is just $299.
This special rate is also combinable with Holland America Line’s “Have It All” program. For $700 per person extra, you can have four extra amenities added to your reservation:

· The “Surf” wi-fi package
· Two dinners per person in your choice of the ship’s specialty restaurants
· The Signature Beverage Package, giving you virtually an open bar during the cruise.
This package MUST be requested at the time of booking and must be taken by everyone in each stateroom, if you opt to add the “Have It All” package.
We will have transfers available from the Sea-Tac Airport area, Lynnwood, and Bellingham to the pier. We are negotiating now for the exact location and times as well as a hotel to stay at the night before or after the cruise. I am trying to negotiate locations where you can park your car for free or a reduced rate during the cruise. In about a week, we will be sending an e-mail to everyone going, offering the hotel as well as asking for your preferred pick-up location. If you live in the Vancouver, BC area or will be flying into Vancouver, and not using our shuttle service, we will treat you to a dinner in the ship’s Pinnacle Grill Restaurant. That questionnaire will come out in a week or so, so its not a decision you have to make now.

If you are a past passenger on Holland America Line, you will want to add your Mariner Society number, please have that ready for our agent. This way we can assure that you get your credit for this cruise. Also, If you have any Holland America or Travel with Alan credits that you would like to apply to this booking, please notify us at the time of booking either on the phone or on the digital booking form.
A proof of identity and citizenship is required for this cruise. A current U.S. or Canadian passport satisfies both requirements and is recommended. If you do not have a current passport, please contact the office for other acceptable forms of ID. Also, this cruise is a “fully vaccinated” cruise. All crew members and staff must be vaccinated as well as all guests aged twelve and above. Everyone will need to bring a negative COVID test result to the pier for a test that was given with two days of boarding.
