TRAVEL TO FRANCE WITH CHEF DIDIER March, 2019


Enjoy a memorable, culinary trip to France with Chef Didier Durand! It begins on March 1st, 2019 when Chef Didier will welcome everyone at the Bordeaux train station "Gare Saint Jean" ( only gare station ) in Bordeaux, and will take everyone, early to middle afternoon, by train to Sarlat-La-Caneda, Dordogne, Southwest of France, in Perigord, Chef's birthplace.

The following itinerary of this exciting, very limited to a few guests, includes all land activities, daily excursions, hotels, all breakfasts, all luncheons and 7 dinners, both accompanied with wines & beers, coffee, etc, sometimes aperitifs too. Taxes and Gratuities. The cost is $ 2400. 

That does not include the airfare, nor the train tickets for Paris to Bordeaux and Bordeaux to Paris. take the TGV, ( Fast Speed Train ). Friday March 1st: 
-Going to a 3 star Hotel where we will stay for 4 nights as we visit that area
-Welcome cocktail at the Hotel
-Welcome dinner at a Sarlat Restaurant
-Back to the Hotel where we will stay for 4 nights

Saturday March 2nd: Breakfast at the Hotel.
Taking an Deluxe, a/c & heated bus ( the same bus for the whole trip ) to the town of les Eyzies and visit of the Prehistoric Museum. 
Drive in and around the town
Lunch at a restaurant in les Eyzies
Visit of Chateau Des Milandes and the life of Josephine Baker
Visit of its surrounding Gardens
Cabaret & dinner at a local auberge
Back to the Hotel

Sunday March 3rd: Breakfast at the Hotel
Visit of the town of Sarlat, and its market
One of a kind Lunch, with 14 courses, degustation style menu, made of every part of the goose, many geese are loose in the town, walking down the street to celebrate that special weekend. This is a Feast D'Oie, attended by hundreds of Guests from all over the world, all course accompanied with local wines.
Afternoon and dinner at your leisure
Enjoying many attractions of this two days Event, taking place in the medieval heart of this town

Monday March 4th: Breakfast at the Hotel
Taking the bus to visit :" Le Gouffre de Proumeyssac ". Called "The Cristal Cathedral", near the town of Rocamadour. The most famous cave in Europe and most interesting geological site, with stalagmites & stalactites, explored by gondola
Lunch at La Dornac
Visit of the Chocolate Museum 
Visit of Collonges Rouge, an pittoresque red brick town 
Back to hotel
Dinner at the hotel

Tuesday March 5th:Breakfast at the Hotel
Visit of the chateau in Beynac
Lunch in La Roque Gageac, a pittoresque village 
Visit of the Gardens of Marqueyssac
Arriving to an 4 star hotel for 3 nights
Visit of a car Museum
Dinner in Monbazillac

Wednesday March 6th: Breakfast at the Hotel
Visit of the Market around the Cathedral in Bergerac
Visit of the old town and Lunch
Visit of a Bergerac winery
Dinner in Bergerac 
Back to Hotel

Thursday March 7th: Breakfast at the Hotel 
Truffes hunting in Perigueux
Visit of Perigueux
Lunch in Sorges, the truffes capital
Visit & tasting at a local cheese farm 
Dinner in Couze et Saint Front
Back to Hotel

Friday March 8th: Breakfast at the Hotel
Trip through Bordeaux unmissable sites and public gardens. 
Visit of a famous winery on an island, next to Chateau Margaux, boat ride to go there
Lunch at the winery with a special roasted whole lamb as the piece de resistance
Going to an 3 stars hotel in bordeaux for two nights, close to the train station so we can go back to Paris on Sunday easily. 
Evening at your leisure

Saturday March 9th: Breakfast at the Hotel
Visit of a Chateau in Saint Emillion
Lunch in Saint Emillion old town 
Visit of Bordeaux, La Cite du Vin, going around the banks of the Garonne River
Cooking class with memoirs of the trip & dinner

Sunday March 10th: Breakfast at the Hotel
Morning at your leisure 
Departure from Bordeaux to Paris in TGV Train


Payment Schedule: 
First Deposit of $500 by November 1st 
Second Deposit of $600 by November 15
Third Deposit of $600 by December 15
Final payment of $700 by January 15

1) Cancellations posted, in writing, within 90 days of departures, penalty of 10% of the Tour
2) Cancellations posted, in writing, within 60 days of departures, penalty of 20% of the Tour
3) Cancellations posted, in writing, within 45 days of departures, penalty of 40% of the Tour
4) Cancellations posted, in writing, within 30 days of departures, penalty of 60% of the Tour
5) Cancellations posted, in writing up to the depart, March 1st, penalty of 100% of the Tour
Tour reservation names and deposits can be transfer to anyone at anytime, with $250 an additional flat fee.
