May 2019 Newsletter
Dear  ,

There's nothing like the explosion of color from bloom ing cherry blossoms, tulips and daffodils to literally bring you out f rom winter doldrums. By why stop there? As the days get longer and the weather gets warmer, now is the time to plan your holiday travel. Here's an around-the- world itinerary with beauty benefits:

1. Los Angeles to Sydney, Australia : Holiday travel means bathing suits, so what better way than to start your trip with minimizing your stretch marks! Australian aboriginal women rub yarrow extract on their skin to help prevent stretch marks and smooth skin. Its anti-inflammatory properties can also help calm skin's complexion and add moisturize.

2.  Sydney to Israel:  Head to the holy land and be sure to swim (or float!) in the Dead Sea! The high concentration of salt in the Dead Sea helps to exfoliate and refresh skin, and to expel toxins from the body. The Dead Sea is purported to have hundreds of healing powers, too.  Looking for a cure; saunter in for a soak!

3.  Israel to Cairo, Egypt:   Luxurious baths and spas are common throughout the Middle East, and there is good reason they are so prolific! Egyptian women swear that taking long baths (versus quick showers) is the secret to silky smooth skin. To bump up the smoothing power, add two cups of powdered milk to the warm water, then enter and let it work its milky magic.

4.  Cairo to Stockholm, Sweden:  Go from the desert's outdoor sauna to one in an indoor spa. Saunas are a huge part of the Swedis h culture, and here's why:  the extremely dry heat removes toxi ns from the skin, and it is very relaxing, too.

5. Stockholm to Santiago, Chile:  Flying exposes you to radiation, but antioxidants neutralize free radicals from sunlight, so eating grapes helps! Not only are Chilean grapes delicious, they can be applied topically. Chilean women have mashed grapes into white flour for decades, and applied it facially. Just leave the mixture on for ten minutes and wash off, and you will have that gorgeous "South-American sun" glow.

6. Santiago to Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic:  With the trip winding down, now is the perfect time to indulge in the local cuisine -- and DR natives love their garlic! While garlic works its way into many dishes, the Dominican's true garlic secret is a topical preparation.  Chopped up garlic is stewed, placed into a bottle of clear nail polish, and applied to nails for long, strong nails. Bonus: Garlic is naturally antibacterial!

A fter the Dominican Republic, get ready to fly home and show off your healthy nails, glowing skin, and shiny hair. And, if you can't make time for travel this summer, these tips can be just as useful at home - and no one will guess that you didn't learn them from the natives! Just remember, "Though we travel the world over to find the beautiful, we must carry it with us, or we find it not."
Ralph Waldo Emerson
