Traveling StoryWalks

The first Traveling StoryWalk event of the season is this Wednesday, 6 to 8 p.m. at Greywall Club, 2153 Wildspring Parkway in Joliet. Join the Joliet Library for, "Lola in the Library" by Anna McQuinn with a craft provided by the Park District. This is a FREE event. No registration is necessary.

Ottawa Street Pool Opens this Weekend

Ottawa Street Pool opens for the season this Saturday! The last day to buy your early bird pass is Friday! Save $15 and receive early entrance as well as a host of other benefits by purchasing a season pass. OSP is open 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday, Sunday and Memorial Day; and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., May 28-31.

World Day of Play

Join us to play the most popular sports from all over the world 4 to 6 p.m., May 28 at Caton Ridge West, 1704 Great Ridge Drive in Plainfield. Games are to include:

Summer Basketball Leagues

Party at PARC

Join us at the Prairie Activity & Recreation Center for the kick-off bash of the summer, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., June 8! The event features:

• Family/Tot Open Gym
• And more!

Additionally, the walking track and Prairie Fit Fitness Center are FREE and open to all during the event. There will also be a presentation on the Park District’s 2024 capital projects in hallway of PARC. No registration is necessary at this FREE event.

NEW! Adult Sand Volleyball League

This new co-ed league for ages 18 and older takes place at Eaton Preserve. Format is 6 on 6 and requires a minimum of three females on the court at all times. Matches are held between 4 and 8 p.m. on Sundays, beginning June 9. Resident registration opens May 6. Non-resident registration opens May 13. Registration deadline is May 31.

Cheer and Dance Camps

A variety of cheer and dance camps are now open for registration.

• Themed Dance Camp - Ballet, Hip-hop, poms and tap sessions are offered for ages 4-9. Camps run July 8-11, 15-18, 22-25 and July 29-August 1.
• Mini Cheer Camp - Morning and night sessions are offered for ages 4-6 August 5-8.
• Junior Cheerleading Camp - Ages 7-9 learn sideline cheers, jumps, a choreographed dance and other cheer techniques. Camp runs morning (10-10:45AM) or night (6:30-7:15PM), August 5-8.

Great Adventures Preschool

Registration for the 2024-25 school year is now being accepted for Great Adventures Preschool! Great Adventures offers young children opportunities for social, intellectual, physical, and emotional growth through a balance of both child-led and teacher-guided play. Great Adventures offers a Finally Five class that is unique to most preschool offerings in that the prerequisite is turning 5 between September 1st and December 31st. This class runs 5 days/week (9:30 a.m. - noon) or 3 days/week (12:45-3:15 p.m.).

Budding baseball enthusiasts aged 3-4 and 5-6 learn the fundamentals of T-Ball in a fun and supportive environment. With engaging activities, skill-building drills, and plenty of smiles, Swingin' Stars T-Ball Camp promises an unforgettable experience for every participant. Camp runs June 10-13.
