I know social media is the wild-west and it can be something of an echo chamber, but…
I am fearful. I am fearful for the nation. I am fearful for you and your family. I am fearful that this bone-headed government will do irreparable damage to this great nation of ours.
I am fearful for the young people who’s education has been tainted, truncated and terminated.
I am in despair for the prospects of the millions who can see their employment fizzling out and for the hundreds of thousands of small businesses, who will wither-on-the-vine.
I am angry we have someone in charge, who is a passenger, impersonates a prime minister, thinks pictures of him in a safety hat and a high-viz jacket somehow makes him a leader, mocks critics, denies the facts, lackadaisical, scruffy and little more than a political yob.
I'm incandescent that this mess has resulted in pictures of the exodus of people, at railways stations, behaving like extras in the fall Saigon, movie.
I am dumbstruck that Her Majesty's opposition is so timid, obsessed with parliamentary wheezes and tactics.
I am terrified for the front-line, everywhere; the bus-drivers who bring our health workers to us, the school teachers who look after the kids and try to educate them between organising testing-conveyor-belts and on-line lessons...
... for the Deliveroo bike-boys and the pick-n-click deliverers.
I’m frustrated that I am powerless and we are in the hands of the incompetent, someone with whom I share nothing. Not one thought, not one scintilla, not one atomic particle of anything to agree upon.
I am exasperated that whatever this new potent covid-cousin has in store for us, was known about in September and the case load in Kent told us all we needed too know... we have lost the initiative.
I’m frightened I’ll catch it, find my way into a hospital and a hassled medic will take one look at my date of birth and put me in a bed near the sawdust.
I’m irate for the thousands of our colleagues, working at the front-line of health care who have needlessly, through dissembling and dithering, been put in harms way… again. The are not disposable.
