Carpool List
We will generate a carpool list for those interested in meeting new friends and easing the burden of transportation. We will send out a google form prior to the week of camp where parents can share information and contact each other before the first day of camp. Stay Tuned!

Sailing to Save the Sea

This past week we kicked off our week long pilot program, Sailing to Save the Sea. Fifth graders from Redding Elementray School in the heart of San Francisco came to learn about watersheds, water quality, tides and currents, and marine debris.

They collected over 70 pieces of marine debris on the beach at Clipper Cove during their Stewardship project. All of their data was collected and entered into NOAA's Marine Debris Tracker App.

The week ended in their classroom where they created a poster campaign to "Ban The Plastic"! These posters were hung in their cafeteria for all to see! Little did they know that the San Francisco Unified School District just announced the banning of plastic straws in their lunch rooms!

We couldn't have asked for a better group of inquisitive students to test out our new curriculum. A big thanks to all of our grant supporters including NOAA, National Marine Sanctuaries, and the St. Francis Sailing Foundation for helping us educate and empower the next generation.

"Sailing was not merely for the sake of sailing, but gave my students a very tangible experience and context for the lessons.;" Teacher, Dana Rees from Redding Elementary School

"I didn't know what the word Watershed meant until now!" - Starlynn

"My least favorite part was when we had to LEAVE the Beach Cleanup!!!" - James

"When we cleaned up the beach, it felt empowering" - Christina
