Events in and around Blue Island

Happy Historic Halloween!

There's no better time of year to visit memorials of those who've passed on, and today we took a trip to Mt. Greenwood Cemetery, where many founding Blue Islanders were laid to rest. As a Blue Island Bonus, we were helped by Paula Klenk Everett, granddaughter of former Blue Island Mayor Paul Klenk! Shown above are images from today's visit and the Rexford family burial plot, complete with a 20 ft. tall obelisk surrounded by the graves of the family. For more information on the Rexford family and their contributions to Blue Island and our neighboring communities, visit blueislandhistoricalsociety.com.
