JULY 2024

MAYORS MESSAGE I Mayor Lyle Holmgren

What's the Big Deal about Main Street; Since January, there has been much discussion about Main Street and Midland Square. Many folks have expressed their opinions on both sides of the issue. We have discussed the pros and cons of revitalizing the Square and Main Street at our City Council meetings and in town halls, listening and gaining citizens' input on how we can revitalize our downtown. At one town hall, the question was asked: what needed to be done to revitalize downtown? Nearly everyone agreed we must do something. Suggestions included adding more vibrancy, amenities, infrastructure improvements like lighting and more greenery, more downtown events, public restrooms, marketing, parking issues, addressing vacancies, and improving façades as critical areas the city should focus on. CITY NEWS

Build Our Future Together - Connect With Us.

Tremonton is a unique city focused on connections. We are connected with our rich

heritage as a town founded by immigrants who created a welcoming, supportive community. We are connected in our vision of a bright future that remembers our roots, preserves our values, and grows with intelligence and intention without

compromising what makes our city special. We are connected to each other through our small-town spirit where neighbors know and help one another and residents and city officials alike listen and collaborate. We are connected to the land and nature with beautiful outdoor surroundings, fun adventures, and agricultural ties. We are connected to all that our valley offers— meaningful work, quality education, entertainment, incredible outdoor adventure, and more—as well as the world at large with easy access to key highways and lighting-fast internet connection. Tremonton is a City of Connections, and it’s what makes our town a gem of Northern Utah.

SENIOR CENTER

Directors Message

The warm weather is here. Along with it comes the pretty flowers, the yummy vegetables and fruit and all the fun in the sun as well as the work. I encourage you to spend some time outside before it gets too hot. Smell the fresh cut grass, pull a few weeds, take a short walk and enjoy the beauty of the world. Take time to listen to the wind in the leaves, the birds in the trees, and the kids enjoying the sunshine! I know there is a lot of bad in the world right now and if you look you will find what you look for. Let’s spend our precious time searching out the good. We have made a few changes to the newsletter and added several new menu items and events to our calendar. We would love to hear your opinion on all of this. We would also love for you to give us suggestions of clubs to start, fieldtrips to go on and any other great ideas you have. We believe that this is your Senior Center and we want you to feel comfortable and valued.

There is a Bowery and trees for shade. We would love to have you bring a lawn chair and visit for a while, but at least come hungry and ready to eat some delicious food and ice cream!
