Supporting One Another Through Uncertain Times
by Lyle Holmgren
With the recent federal government shutdown, many in our community may be feeling added stress—especially those whose paychecks are temporarily affected by it or who rely on SNAP benefits. Times like these remind us of the importance of looking out for one another and ensuring that no one in Tremonton goes without their basic needs.
At some point, most of us face moments when we need a hand. Accepting support from others is part of what makes a strong, caring community—and I’m proud that Tremonton is a place where neighbors take care of one another.
If you or someone you know is facing temporary hardship, please remember that help is available right here in Tremonton. The Tremonton Food Pantry continues to provide food and essential items to individuals and families in need. They work tirelessly to make sure everyone is treated with kindness, respect, and compassion.
I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to the Tremonton Food Pantry Director, Carey Hunsaker, her dedicated staff, and the many volunteers who generously give their time and energy to ensure that families and individuals are cared for. Their quiet service and commitment reflect the very best of Tremonton’s community spirit.
Because the need has increased, those who are able are encouraged to donate food, household goods, personal care items, or financial support to help keep the pantry shelves stocked. In-kind and financial donations are always welcome, and every contribution—whether large or small—makes a meaningful difference.
The Food Pantry is especially in need of holiday food items such as...

Build Our Future Together - Connect With Us.
Tremonton is a unique city focused on connections. We are connected with our rich
heritage as a town founded by immigrants who created a welcoming, supportive community. We are connected in our vision of a bright future that remembers our roots, preserves our values, and grows with intelligence and intention without
compromising what makes our city special. We are connected to each other through our small-town spirit where neighbors know and help one another and residents and city officials alike listen and collaborate. We are connected to the land and nature with beautiful outdoor surroundings, fun adventures, and agricultural ties. We are connected to all that our valley offers— meaningful work, quality education, entertainment, incredible outdoor adventure, and more—as well as the world at large with easy access to key highways and lighting-fast internet connection. Tremonton is a City of Connections, and it’s what makes our town a gem of Northern Utah.

Tremonton Fire Department
Practice Makes Perfect!
We’d like to extend our congratulations to Firefighters Carl McBride and Dallen Soffe for successfully completing their Fire Officer I certification training and testing. Your dedication to advancing your skills and knowledge is a true reflection of your commitment to excellence and to the communities we serve.
We’d also like to wish the best of luck to several of our other firefighters as they begin Aerial Operations training this month. This specialized class focuses on the operation of aerial apparatus — including our very own Ladder 31 — and represents another step in strengthening our team’s ability to respond safely and effectively.
Your hard work and continuous pursuit of professional growth make a lasting difference. Thank you for your dedication and service!
Staying Ready as Call Volumes Rise
As our community continues to grow and activity increases, the Tremonton Fire Department has seen a steady rise in call volumes over recent months. From emergency medical responses and fire incidents to public service calls, our crews have been busier than ever — and they’ve continued to rise to the challenge with professionalism and dedication.
To meet these demands, the department has worked proactively to ensure adequate staffing and readiness around the clock. Through careful scheduling, cross-training, and continued recruitment efforts, we’re maintaining full coverage on every shift and every apparatus. This ensures that when a call comes in — whether it’s a structure fire, medical emergency, or rescue — our crews can respond quickly and effectively.
We’re also investing in ongoing training and leadership development to strengthen our team and prepare for future needs. These efforts not only help us keep pace with the increasing call volume but also ensure the highest level of service and safety for our community.
Our firefighters remain committed to the mission of protecting lives and property, no matter how busy the days (or nights) become. We appreciate the continued support of our residents and local leaders as we work together to keep our community safe.

Parking in the Winter Months
December 1st marks the start of enforcement for the Winter Parking Ordinance. Please refrain from parking on the street between the hours of 12:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. during the months of December, January, and February. This allows snow removal equipment and vehicles to clear the roads properly and keep everyone safe. For more information, please refer to Tremonton City Ordinance 15-213 – Parking During Winter Months, as it is subject to change.

Lock your Vehicles
This is a friendly reminder to always lock your vehicle and take a moment to double-check before walking away. Doing so helps prevent the theft of valuables such as bags, electronics, and documents, and protects your vehicle from break-ins or damage. By staying aware and taking preventive steps, we can work together to reduce crime and keep our community safe. A few seconds of caution can save you hours of frustration later—let’s keep Tremonton safe together!

Directors Message
Purple ribbons stand for Alzheimer’s Awareness. We want all of you to know that we support you. We will be wearing our Hope and Love T-shirts every Friday this month to show our love and support. If you need help finding information or resources as a person suffering or as a caregiver, please reach out to us. We can help point you in the right direction.
This month is also about Family and Food. We have just received word that, due to the Government shutdown, the SNAP (food stamps) program has run out of funds and is now suspended. To help with this problem, we remind you all that we have a free/sharing table. If you have food in your cupboards that you won't be using, consider bringing it in here to help those who don't have enough money to buy their own food. Working together, we can help each other. I hope you all have an amazing Thanksgiving this month.
