A STRONGER and MORE HOPEFUL TREMONTON
by Lyle Holmgren
At the funerals of Sgt. Lee Sorensen and Officer Eric Estrada, one theme stood out to me above all others—their lives were defined by service. They gave of themselves completely to the communities they loved, and they served as examples of selfless sacrifice. So, the question for us now is how we, as a community, continue that legacy.
I believe one of the answers is choosing to serve others. Service doesn’t always mean wearing a badge or uniform. It can involve volunteering in local programs, mentoring a child, helping a neighbor in need, supporting our schools, delivering meals to those in need, showing kindness in everyday interactions, or simply smiling and saying hello.
In the days following this tragic experience, we have already seen remarkable displays of this spirit in action. Neighbors gathered to clean and restore the site of the tragedy, turning a place of sorrow into one of...

Build Our Future Together - Connect With Us.
Tremonton is a unique city focused on connections. We are connected with our rich
heritage as a town founded by immigrants who created a welcoming, supportive community. We are connected in our vision of a bright future that remembers our roots, preserves our values, and grows with intelligence and intention without
compromising what makes our city special. We are connected to each other through our small-town spirit where neighbors know and help one another and residents and city officials alike listen and collaborate. We are connected to the land and nature with beautiful outdoor surroundings, fun adventures, and agricultural ties. We are connected to all that our valley offers— meaningful work, quality education, entertainment, incredible outdoor adventure, and more—as well as the world at large with easy access to key highways and lighting-fast internet connection. Tremonton is a City of Connections, and it’s what makes our town a gem of Northern Utah.

Chief Message
As the summer heat increases, don't forget to drink plenty of water. The rule of thumb is eight, 8-ounce glasses of water a day. This is great if you are sitting indoors all day with the air conditioner on. If you are in a hot environment of any kind, with or without the sun, you need to be thinking of more like double the normal 8 glasses of water. In addition to this, if you are becoming thirsty now you have already fallen behind. You need to stay consistent with water intake on hot days and begin drinking water first thing in the morning and continue throughout the day. While it's frustrating to keep going to the restroom because you are drinking so much water, you will be so happy that you avoided a heat related emergency in the long run. Stay safe by staying hydrated.
Enjoy your summer,
Chief Jarrow
