The Bartlett Police Department is proud to announce the recent graduation of Sergeant Christopher Johnson from the 10-week Northwestern University Center for Public Safety School of Police Staff and Command that was held in Elmhurst between September 8, 2025 – January 16, 2026.
The School of Police Staff and Command provides upper-level college instruction in a total of twenty-seven core or mandatory blocks of instruction and utilizes additional blocks of instruction during each session. The major topics of study include: Leadership, Project Management, Employee Relations, Organizational Behavior, Applied Statistics, Planning and Policy Development, Budgeting and Resource Allocation. Each student is academically challenged through written examinations, projects, presentations and quizzes in addition to a research paper that are a required part of the curriculum.
The Center for Public Safety was established at Northwestern University in 1936 with the specific goal of expanding university-based education and training for the Law Enforcement Community. Since its inception, the Center has broadened its original objective and now provides a variety of courses and programs in the area of Police Training, Management Training, and Executive Development.
Sergeant Johnson joined the Bartlett Police Department in 2017 and was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in December of 2021. He is currently serving as the Sergeant of Investigations. Sergeant Johnson previously served as a patrol sergeant, patrol officer, and detective.
Bartlett Police Department anticipates a variety of benefits from Sergeant Johnson’s completion of this program. Many of the School of Police Staff and Command graduates go on to achieve a variety of leadership positions within their respective agencies. Congratulations, Sgt. Johnson!

Spring is just around the corner, and there is no better way to jumpstart your fitness than by moving for a mission.
Starting March 1st, the Bartlett Police Department will embark on a month-long challenge to turn Miles into Smiles and you're invited! Whether you’re hitting the pavement, the pool, or the gym, every mile you log helps raise vital funds and awareness for the incredible athletes of Special Olympics Illinois.
How it works:
📅When: All month long (March 1–31)
👟What: Run, walk, cycle, swim, row, ruck, or elliptical—you choose your move!
🎯The Goal: Challenge yourself physically while bringing thousands of smiles to Special Olympics athletes. As a special incentive, anyone who participates and raises at least $100.00 will receive a Bartlett Police Special Olympics Challenge Coin. Also, any person who makes a donation of $50.00 to a participant will receive a challenge coin.

Village Hall Administrative Offices will be closed to the public on Monday, March 2 for Institute Day. Village staff will be doing professional training and development.
Incoming phone calls will be directed to voicemail. Normal village hall operations will resume on Tuesday, March 3.
However, the Bartlett Connect mobile app gives you access to village hall 24/7. Make service requests, sign up for push notifications, and link to the village website, where you can pay water bills, apply for permits, search information and more. Bartlett Connect is available for free in the Apple and Google Play online stores.

On March 7th the Bartlett Depot Museum will be celebrating St. Patrick’s Day. The kiddos will make a wall hanging featuring shamrocks, leprechauns and good luck symbols to display on a door or on a wall.
The First Saturday Free Children’s Craft offers a different craft every month. No registration is required, but supplies are limited. Drop in any time between 9:00 am and noon.
The Bartlett Depot Museum is located at 100 W. Railroad Avenue in Bartlett with free admission and free parking, across the street in the public lot. In addition to exhibits, there are lots of hands-on activities for all ages to learn about our railroad heritage. All Aboard for History!

The Parkway Tree Program will open on March 9 and run through April 24.
This cost-sharing program provides the opportunity for residents to purchase a 2-inch diameter parkway tree for $100.

Join the Bartlett History Museum celebrate Women's History Month on March 11 at 7:00 p.m. with the Driving Forces - Women & Automobiles program led by Barbara Barrett. Topics include early pioneers like Bertha Benz, inventors of safety features and modern consumers who drive majority purchasing decisions that influence design and practicality.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. at Bartlett Village Hall for refreshments, with a 6:45 p.m. pre-program by museum staff.

The Capital budget was approved by the board on February 3rd, 2026. The new fiscal year will begin on May 1st, 2026. Here are some projects to look forward to in fiscal year 2026/2027.
• Road resurfacing – expected to occur late Summer-Fall 2026.
• Concrete replacement/cutting – expected in April, and again in the Fall.
• New bike path construction at Naperville Road Railroad Crossing – expected Summer 2026.
• Water main replacement will start with the goal of replacing 1% of the system every year. Expected to occur between April – July 2026.
• The Village will continue to eliminate lead service lines this fiscal year in conjuncture with water main replacement.
• Sanitary sewer lining - Expected to occur between April and August 2026.
