The Village Board of Trustees took a significant step forward in our commitment to thoughtful community growth. In a special workshop session, the Board met with the urban planning experts at Houseal Lavigne to officially kick-start the Lake Street TIF Master Plan on Tuesday, April 7.
The Lake Street corridor is more than just a thoroughfare; it is a vital gateway to our village. This master planning process is designed to ensure that as the area evolves, it does so with a clear, cohesive vision.

April is Distracted Driving Awareness Month, and the Bartlett Police Department is partnering with the Illinois Department of Transportation, Illinois State Police and more than 200 local law enforcement agencies throughout the state to remind motorists to “Drop It and Drive.”
At a time when traffic fatalities are on the rise in Illinois and across the country, the Bartlett Police Department is committed to reducing the traffic crashes caused by distractions like texting or talking on a cell phone. Motorists can expect to see increased patrols and enforcement zones the entire month of April.

Caring for Trees in Our Region: this Tri-Village Garden Club meeting features Sarah Christensen, Village of Bartlett Forester for 12 years. Sarah is a certified arborist and a municipal specialist. She is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Illinois Arborists Association.
Please join the garden club on Wednesday, April 15 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Streamwood Fire Station 31, 1204 S. Park Avenue, Streamwood.

Remembering Route 66
This nostalgia-packed lecture, hosted by the Bartlett History Museum and presented by historian Leslie Goddard, explores the history of Route 66. Learn why Route 66 remains so indelibly associated with the lore of the American road trip.
The program will be held on Wednesday, May 13 at Village Hall at 7 p.m. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for refreshments, pre-program begins at 6:45 p.m.
