Public Open House: Route 20 Development Plans | | |
Village President Gunsteen and the Board of Trustees invite Bartlett residents to view the conceptual plans prepared by Houseal Lavigne and provide input to help guide the future development of Route 20 (Lake Street).
The Open House will feature an interactive, station-based format. Attendees can view illustrative boards featuring renderings and diagrams that highlight proposed land use, housing, open spaces, and design elements. This event provides a valuable opportunity to ask questions and share feedback on community priorities before final recommendations are presented.

First Responder Internship Graduation - June 30, 2026
Since 2018, the Village of Bartlett has been proud to partner with the Alignment Collaborative for Education (ACE), serving as the first municipal agency to host high school interns from School District U-46.
Throughout the summer, local high school students got a firsthand look at careers in law enforcement, fire service, and emergency management. This amazing hands-on program is a true hometown collaboration between Bartlett PD, Hanover Park FD, Hanover Township Emergency Services, and ALIGN Education. Congratulations, graduates!

Bartlett Police Department participated in the Illinois Department of Transportation’s Independence Day traffic enforcement campaign. Bartlett Police Department’s participation in this statewide traffic safety initiative was fully funded by a grant awarded by the Illinois Department of Transportation’s Bureau of Safety Programs & Engineering.
Bartlett Police Department conducted specialized traffic enforcement which resulted in:
Misdemeanor Offenses
- Two motorists were charged for driving under the influence of alcohol.
- Two motorists were charged for driving without a valid license.
- One motorist was charged for aggravated speeding.
Enforcement Contacts
- 10 citations for speeding violations.
- 6 citations for seatbelt violations.
- 23 citations for other moving or non-moving violations.

From proactive enforcement efforts and community engagement initiatives to advancements in training, technology, and staffing, this report highlights the collective work accomplished over the past year.

Create your own Kaleidoscope!
The First Saturday Free Family Craft at the Bartlett Depot Museum on August 1, 2026, is creating your own kaleidoscope! Using markers, crayons and embellishments, your optical instrument, invented in 1816, with be a panorama of designs and colors when rotated. You and your family will be amazed! No registration is required. Drop in between 9 AM and noon.
The Depot Museum is located at 100 W. Railroad Ave in Bartlett’s 1873 train station. Admission is always free with free parking in the public lot across the street at Oak and Railroad Avenues.

- President Gunsteen thanks the Bartlett 4th of July Committee for their incredible effort in hosting the festival despite the challenging weather conditions.
- President Gunsteen and the Village Board of Trustees commends the Bartlett Lions Club for a wonderful Independence Day Parade on July 5th.
