TREVELLE HARP NAMED EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
OF NEIGHBORHOOD LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE

The Board of Directors of Neighborhood Leadership Institute (NLI) is pleased to share that Trevelle Harp has been named the new Executive Director of the organization. He will begin on April 3, 2023 and lead the organization’s efforts encompassing neighborhood leadership, community health, True2U mentoring and youth engagement.

NLI Board President Harold Pretel states, “Throughout the interview process, Trevelle presented qualities and experiences which confirmed him as the most desirable candidate. He displays a great understanding of our mission and a programmatic depth of knowledge that will support and broaden our program areas while reassuring our community and staff the Institute is in good hands. We are fortunate to have a leader of his caliber, character, and spirit take the helm and partner with us into the future.”
Harp previously worked at Northeast Ohio Alliance for Hope in East Cleveland, Ohio. He joined that organization in 2008 and served as its Executive Director since 2010. He brings valuable experience and expertise in program development, organizing, fundraising and community leadership to NLI. Trevelle is a graduate of Neighborhood Leadership Cleveland (Class 24) as well as the Community Development Corporation Leadership Program. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for Fund for Our Economic Future.

Trevelle states, “I have always believed that a community’s greatest asset is its people. Throughout my career, I have passionately adhered to that philosophy and look forward to continuing that focus at Neighborhood Leadership Institute. As an NLC graduate, I am excited to be back with the NLI community and am honored to build on the legacy that the organization and its past leaders have created.”

An extensive search process led by the NLI Board of Directors and Janus Small Associates began in October 2022 with a survey that captured community input on the position. Harp will lead a staff of 13 at NLI and an alumni base of over 1,300 Neighborhood Leadership Cleveland graduates.

Please join the Board of Directors and staff at Neighborhood Leadership Institute in welcoming Trevelle to the organization.
