Dear Sister Veterans,
November is Military Family Appreciation Month (also known as National Veterans and Military Families Month) — a time dedicated to honoring the sacrifices, resilience, and contributions of military families. This observance recognizes the unique challenges they face, from deployments to frequent moves, and celebrates their steadfast support for service members. Since 1996, each U.S. President has issued a proclamation recognizing November as a month to honor our nation’s military families.
Why November is Special
• Veterans Day – November 11
A day to honor and thank all who have served in our Armed Forces.
• Thanksgiving – Fourth Thursday in November
A time to gather in gratitude, celebrate family, and reflect on our blessings.
• Election Day – First Tuesday after the first Monday in November
A reminder of the importance of civic engagement and the right to vote.
• End of Daylight Saving Time – Early November
Time to “fall back” and enjoy a little extra rest!
• Black Friday – The day after Thanksgiving
Known for shopping deals—and the official start of the holiday season.
