Get ready for a month packed with fun, activities and community gatherings.

Did you know that June is a month with a variety of significant events, including the summer solstice, Father's Day, Juneteenth, and the start of summer in the Northern Hemisphere. It's also known for events like the D-Day invasion, World Environment Day, and various other celebrations and holidays.

Some important dates to put on your calendar:

  • June 5 - World Environment Day, a day dedicated to raising awareness about environmental issues.
  • June 6 - Marks the D-Day invasion of Normandy, a crucial event in World War II. (81st anniversary)
  • June 6&7 - FDVA Women Veterans' Conference in Tallahassee, Florida
  • June 7 - Family Feud
  • June 10 - TCWV Board Meeting
  • June 12 - Women Veteran Recognition Celebration
  • June 14 - Flag Day commemorates the adoption of the national flag by the Continental Congress on that date in 1777. VMP Ceremony that day!
  • June 15 - Father’s Day. This national holiday is observed in June to honor fathers and father figures.
  • June 16 - TCWV General Membership Meeting
  • June 19 - Juneteenth, also known as Emancipation Day, is a national holiday that commemorates the emancipation of enslaved African Americans in the United States.
  • June 20th at 10:41pm - Summer Solstice: that marks the beginning of summer in the Northern Hemisphere and is the day with the most daylight hours.
