Coffee with the President,

'Collaborate' is defined by the online version of Webster's Dictionary as:
3. : to cooperate with an agency or instrumentality, with which one is not immediately connected *

Precisely what I saw this past weekend! Lime Rock Park, Sharon Playhouse and Trade Secrets, please step forward and get your RIBBONS! You've all won the Working Together Award! Congratulations!
While I am at it, a few photos from the weekend are in order: the first is yours truly, with JoAnn Ryan, President of the Northwest CT Chamber of Commerce. We had a great time together at the 2019 Season Kickoff, and we are looking forward to collaborating on an upcoming event, stay tuned!
The second picture is Chris Tripler of Great Falls Brewing Co., aaand the guy behind nearby Norbrook Brewery, and guess what? They are collaborating too! Follow them on Facebook to get the latest! So exciting!
Bottom line: it is going to be a GREAT summer! I look forward to seeing you all out and about!

* The first and second definitions refer to academic study and military endeavors, and I thought them unnecessary here.

Tri-State Chamber of Commerce, President
Dear Tri-State Chamber Newsletter Audience,

We the Board of Directors know that not everyone can make it to TSC meetings and events, and we understand. It seems, the faster and more convenient life becomes, the less time we all have, especially in business! We want to hear your thoughts on a few ideas, as we look ahead to a busy summer season, and even further ahead to 2020!
Please take a moment to read and answer the questions below, feeling free to briefly elaborate in the space provided. Your answers will help us gain a better understanding of what is important to your business or non-profit, positioning us to better serve our membership in the future. All answers are confidential, and a report will be generated by the numbers, which we will share with you. We will use this information to better serve our mission of "Connecting Commerce and Community".

Salisbury Rotary Club News

Cantrell returns to The White Gallery after more than a decade with a series of paintings that are certain to intrigue and ,yet, fill your heart with joy.
Cantrell uses a few carefully positioned bands of color to create a view of an open landscape. And, Cantrell explains, "I need lots of color in an image that strikes me. I use a lot of drips and flung slashes of paint." Whether cityscapes or landscapes, the result is expressive pieces in which swaths of yellow, orange, and violet evoke paths and fields and feature a mix of abstraction and figuration, with vibrant bright hues, visible brushwork, and a sense of calm.
We normally open shows on Saturday, but this is a special event in conjunction with Lime Rock Park honoring The Michael J Fox Foundation and The Lakeville Community Conservancy. A portion of proceeds from every sale will be donated to each: One with a global reach and one very focused on our local environment. We will send you one more email about this event giving you further information later this week. However, it promises to be a great evening. Click to view website.

How do you lower your closing costs -
what you can and can't control
When it comes to purchasing a home, closing costs are just part of the process. If you've purchased a home before, you know that transferring a property and obtaining a loan can be complex. Not only is it a lot of paperwork, but it requires help form numerous different sources and unfortunately for the home buyer, they don't do that work for free. Continue Reading

May 8, 2019 Salisbury, CT. The Center for Canine Behavior Studies, Inc.’s latest study Demographics and Comorbidity of Behavior Problems in Dogs has been published in the Journal of Veterinary Medicine.
The study findings provide insight into the magnitude of owner-reported canine behavior problems encountered by owners. It is hoped that findings will encourage veterinarians to further incorporate aspects of behavior problem management into their daily work. More important, emerging findings from a follow up study with owners having problem dogs could make a significant impact in preventing misbehaving dogs from entering the shelter “system” in the first place, and helping dogs surrendered because of behavior, escape the “system” through adoption and thus avoid euthanasia Click here to read full press-release.
