Coffee with the President,

The Irish are a very optimistic lot:
Health and a long life to you.
Land without rent to you.
A child every year to you.
And if you can't go to heaven,
May you at least die in Ireland. ~Irish blessing
Walls for the wind,
And a roof for the rain,
And drinks beside the fire --
Laughter to cheer you
And those you love near you,
And all that your heart may desire! ~Irish blessing

Happy St. Patrick's Day one and all! Please support one or all of the many Corned Beef & Cabbage dinner fundraisers in our beautiful Tri-State Region in the upcoming days, and hop into your favorite restaurant or pub to really "get your Irish on!" with your designated driver, of course!

Speaking of the Irish, the 24th Annual Murphy Open Golf Tournament will be held Monday June 10th at the Egremont Country Club. Save that date and stay tuned here for more details coming. Don't forget to visit our facebook page:  www.facebook.com/tristatechamber  where there is an event page.

Salisbury Rotary Club News
Pat Wright was the Salisbury Rotary Club’s 2/12 luncheon speaker at Noble Horizons, informing the group about Chore Services, the NW Corner’s leading resource for non-medical services for seniors and disabled residents for stay-at-home services. Chore Service is a registered non-profit 501(c)(3) organization and 100% of its funding and donations support its mission to help senior and disabled residents within the community remain safely and independently at home.
The Salisbury Rotary Club was one of five local not-for-profit service organizations involved this past Saturday at “Code-for-a-Cause,” a unique introductory opportunity for middle schoolers to learn coding. Held at HVRHS and sponsored by the 21st Century Fund for HVRHS, some two dozen students worked with high school mentors to conceptualize and design phone apps to help the NPOs in implementing their missions. SRC VP Randy Chapell is shown here with his group of students.

Blog Post - Handling the Manufacturing Skilled Worker Shortage
In an age where technology is moving at a mile a minute, it's not surprising that many young adults entering the work force are focusing on jobs in technology. However, the change in focus is leaving a shortage in many fields, including manufacturing. What was once a top career option for individuals opting not to go for a four year college degree, is no longer seen as a viable career path for Millennials and Generation Z. It's estimated that 2.4 million manufacturing jobs could go unfilled between now and 2028, according to a study from the association and the consultancy firm Deloitte. Continue Reading
