Coffee with the President,
These are busy weeks, Tri-State members! It's so busy you can't believe it! So busy that I have shortened the title here, and do not have much time to write, so I am going to let some photos do the talking for me. Have a great week!

Jana Robbins (Gypsy, I Love My Wife, The Tale Of The Allergist’s Wife) and Haley Swindal (Jekyll and Hyde, White Christmas, Sweeney Todd) bring WE JUST MOVE ON!, their critically acclaimed sold out salute to Kander & Ebb to the Sharon Playhouse before a return engagement at New York’s Feinstein’s/54 Below Supper Club.
This scintillating evening of song and story features hits from Broadway shows that include Cabaret, Chicago & Zorba...Maybe This Time, Life Is, How Lucky Can You Get, All That Jazz, A Quiet Thing & more!
As Artistic Director Alan M-L Wager says, “We are thrilled to offer our audiences the chance to enjoy these terrifically talented ladies in this once in a lifetime production. We’ve transformed our Bok Gallery into a Cabaret Club complete with front row tables as well as traditional seating.”
The evening is presented as part of the Sharon Playhouse Cocktails & Cabaret series and includes libations, light hors d'oeuvres and the show.

Internship Opportunities at HVRHS Career Experience Program Unpaid Experiential Learning Program (UELP)
The Unpaid Experiential Learning Program is a CT State-sponsored and sanctioned unpaid internship
program for high school students under the age of 18. It allows them to hold unpaid internships in for-profit organizations in the community that have a significant educational benefit.
The U.S.Department of Labor and the courts have created strict criteria for legally permitting an unpaid internship in a for-profit entity. (This applies to college internships as well.) The UELP Program helps to ensure those criteria are met and creates the platform for a work-based educational experience for high school students. Non-profit and civic organizations are exempt from this criteria. The DOL does not want to inhibit volunteer or civic engagement in the community.

Help Wanted:
Young HVRHS Career Experience Internship Program seeks internship opportunities at local organizations.
HVRHS Career Experience Program is seeking to create job shadow and internship opportunities in both for-profit and non-profit organizations in the local community.
While one-day job shadows are a perfect vehicle to introduce a student to a job or career, internships are a longer-term way for our students to build skills, connect to curriculum, and establish connections in the local community with caring adults working in all kinds of careers.

Millennials: Traditional or Roth IRA?
|
There's often a debate over which retirement fund you should choose: a Traditional or Roth IRA? As a millennial, there is a definite advantage to choosing one over the other. You contribute to a Roth with money that has already been subject to income tax, but when you withdraw it in retirement, everything you have earned in the fund is tax-free. In comparison, you do not pay tax on Traditional IRA contributions until you take out the money in your later years. But how should you know what account will benefit you the most when you retire?
