Trick or Treat already?
Not quite, but make a note that Illinois State and Illinois Wesleyan students will be holding their annual Trick or Treat for Change on October 31st. Students will be out from 5:30-8:00 p.m. during regular trick or treat hours. They'll be in groups of 4-6, in costume, and with IDs to show they're collecting for their collegiate Habitat chapters. This is their major fundraiser of the year, funding the Collegiate Build, so please be generous if they knock on your door. No candy necessary, but we're pretty sure they won't say no to a candy bar or two.

Have a community group that would like to help the students with their efforts? Meet at the Hanson Student Center on Illinois Wesleyan's campus and they'll sign you up.
Tips for 2x4s
Fat Jacks Gives Back. Let's fill
up Fat Jacks on October 28 and have a Happy Hour that also builds houses. Manager Joe Scienski is generously donating all of his tips from 5-8 p.m. to Habitat. And not just on beverages. They have a robust pub menu, appetizers are 1/2 price, and he's covering the tips for his wait staff, too, so every dollar you tip goes right to Habitat. Let's raise a toast to community partners coming together to do good.
Families welcome.
We're also happy to report that Tito's Handmade Vodka offered to make a contribution to our Fat Jacks Gives Back night. They are kicking in $500! Thanks so much to Ali & Randi for getting on board with this fundraiser.

ReStore volunteers needed
Want to volunteer for Habitat without swinging a hammer? We're always happy for your help at the ReStore. Unloading, sorting, shelving, helping customers carry out their treasures - it's all part of the rewarding job you'll have when you give a few of your hours to the ReStore. You'll be impressed by the sheer volume of stuff that comes in and sells within minutes. You'll get to work with the incredibly dedicated ReStore staff, and you might even pick up a treasure or two for yourself. Best of all, you get the satisfaction of putting your efforts towards building safe, affordable homes for our partner families. Thank you in advance for your support and help.
