Celebrating Holy Week at Home

Here is a wonderful resource for Celebrating Holy Week at Home
How to get the most out of Mass online:
  • Set up a space in your home for prayer/worship. Consider covering a table with a
tablecloth or another nice cloth. Place a Bible, a candle and a cross or crucifix on the table.
  • Straighten the space and arrange enough furniture for all. Have everyone come prepared to attend to the Mass.
  • Turn off and remove all devices that can distract from the space.
  • Remind everyone that we do not kneel and perform the ritual gestures of Mass while we are watching it, since this does not take the place of attending Mass. But everyone should attend to it prayerfully and make a spiritual communion.
  • Before the Mass begins, light the candle.

Act of Spiritual Communion
My Jesus, I believe that you are present in the Most Holy Sacrament. I love you above all things, and I desire to receive you into my soul. Since I cannot at this moment receive you sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace you as if you were already there and unite myself wholly to you. Never permit me to be separated from you. Amen.
The Triduum Services at St Anthony Church will be
broadcast on Facebook LIVE .

Holy Thursday Music
Offertory: Our Blessing Cup
Recessional: The Servant Song

Holy Thursday's liturgy focuses our attention on service, which is the heart of the Gospel. In washing his disciple’s feet, he commissions them to go and wash the feet of others. The Eucharist, where Christ becomes truly present, binds us together and strengthens us to do the very work of service we are called to do.
There’s no Easter Sunday without Good Friday. There is no resurrection without the Cross. Things are always darkest just before they go black. And then, in the blackness of the truth - the truth that our own power or smarts are never enough - we discover that we need to rely solely on the promise of the Father.

On Good Friday, the church will only be open from 12 pm to 2:30 pm.
Father Gregory prayed the Stations of the Cross on Facebook LIVE on Friday, March 27th. Click here for a video of it or view it on our Facebook page.
Christ is risen, Alleluia, Alleluia!
Each day is a new Easter morning. We pick ourselves up and go to that empty tomb. We look within and we look without and exclaim as boldly as we can proclaim, “I believe!” Jesus witnessed and was victim to more of the ugly side of life than most of us will ever see.
Yet, he rose triumphant and so shall we.
Happy Easter!
During this difficult time we hope that this will end quickly and we will return to celebrating together once again. What a day of Praise that will be!!
God bless you and your loved ones.
As Always we assure of you of our prayers!
-Father Gregory and the Parish Staff

We know that plans seem to change everyday. We are all responding to directives from the Archdiocese and the Chesprocott Health District, which can come daily.
With almost every new directive we receive, Father Gregory and the staff hold very heartfelt conference calls to decide what is our best response. Unfortunately many of these directives come after we have made and announced our plans to the parish. Sometimes within 24 hours of an event, we are forced to change or cancel it. We have done our best to try to get the word out to our parishioners as effectively as possible.
With the number of people testing positive for COVID-19 in our area, Father Gregory's overriding concern is to keep us safe and to limit the risk to our parishioners, this consistent message has guided his decisions and ours for the past several weeks.
Through prayer, and a steadfast belief in God's love for us all, we will prevail. We look forward to the day we can reopen our doors to everyone and return to the celebration of the Mass together. Until then, we will continue our work (remotely) for the parish and parishioners.
Thank you all for your many kind and thoughtful messages and prayers.
Prayer During an Epidemic
Lord Jesus,
Hear our pleas, our Good Shepherd and Divine Physician. We
implore your mercy in the wake of an outbreak of serious illness
and disease.
Guide our efforts to prevent contagion and make preparations to
care for those most vulnerable. Assist all professionals and volunteers who work to eradicate the epidemic now spreading. May our
actions be marked by your steadfast love and selfless service and
never by panic or fear.
Bestow your comfort and healing to the sick, sustain and strengthen them by your grace. May they know your closeness as they carry
the cross of illness.
And may all who have been called from this life come to worship
you eternally with all the saints as you grant consolation and peace
to their mourners. Amen.
Holy Mary, Health of the Sick, pray for us. St. Joseph, Hope of the Sick, pray for us.
St. Rocco, protector against epidemics, pray for us
