Invite. Welcome. Connect.

Greetings! The Trinity Evangelism Committee has concluded its 7-week

Three new committees have been formed to oversee the implementation of the exciting new ideas generated through the process: Invite (chaired by John Ball), Welcome (chaired by Lisa Allain), and Connect (chaired by Cathy Dale).
Please keep this important endeavor in your prayers and - if you have not done so - please take this short ministry quiz

TRINITY CASSEROLE BAKE SALE - Friday, March 8th
|
|
Trinity Church offers a huge thank you to Kathleen Bond. Kathleen recently completed an 11 session series on the Church’s stained glass, called the Gospel in Glass. Many enjoyed the series. Having so much information on our beautiful windows, and thoughtful reflections on the stories they tell, is a wonderful contribution to the richness of our Church. Thank you, Kathleen!
Congratulations are in order to Adam Gwin, Trinity parishioner, who was recently elected to the Diocesan Standing Committee at Diocesan Council. The Standing Committee serves as the Bishop’s Council of Advice, and, under certain circumstances, becomes the Ecclesiastical Authority of the Diocese. Other areas of responsibility include: Candidacy to Holy Orders, efforts to sell or encumber real estate, and election of bishops in this and other dioceses.
Congratulations, Adam!
Congratulations are in order to the Rev. Deacon Les Hegwood, who was recently ordained a Transitional Deacon for the Diocese of Mississippi as part of the process in being ordained priest in the Church. Most will remember that Trinity Church sponsored Les into seminary and that Les previously served as Head of School at Trinity Episcopal School. He and his family lived in Thomas Hall when they resided in Natchez, prior to seminary, and were active participants at Trinity. Deacon Les has been assigned to Calvary Episcopal Church, Cleveland, MS (in the Delta).
Congratulations Deacon Les!

Enneagram Retreat at the Gray Center - April 5-7, 2019
|
A letter form Ellen Gabardi:
I would like to invite you to consider gathering with
The Institute for Conscious Being
for an Enneagram retreat at the Gray Center in Canton April 5-7, 2019. I am presently engaged in their two-year training, and I have found their approach to be immensely complementary to the approach of
Life in the Trinity Ministry
with which many of you are familiar.
As many of you have experienced firsthand in your own lives, the wisdom of the Enneagram creates space and grace by cultivating understanding and compassion for ourselves and for others. The teachings of
The Institute for Conscious Being
promote wholeness through spiritual consciousness and transformation. I hope you'll consider gathering with Dr. Howell and the faculty in April.

Daughters of the King Prayer Box
|
Daughters of the King Trinity Chapter is a national Order of Episcopal Women dedicated to prayer, service, and evangelism. Our ladies pray for many people inside and outside the church on an individual basis and collectively.
You can fill out a card in the back of the church and place it in the prayer box near the entry doors asking for private prayer for a person(s) or situations without giving your name (unless you choose to provide it) and without having your request placed on the published church prayer list. Each card is completely confidential and discreetly given to one member of the Order. The prayer cards are never discussed in the group or with anyone else. That one Daughter prays for 30 days for that which is written on the card.
We invite you to utilize this prayer box knowing your request is privately received and prayed for in Christ's name. Also, as a reminder, you can call Ann O'Bryant in the Church Office in times of illness for support or be placed on the posted prayer list.
The Daughters of the King meet on the 4th Wednesday of each month at 4 PM in the Parish Hall of Trinity Church. For more information contact
Teresa Noland.

A Mardi Gras Prayer
Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation,
for it is from your goodness that we have this day
to celebrate on the threshold of the Season of Lent.
Tomorrow we will fast and abstain from meat.
Today we feast.
We thank you for the abundance of gifts you shower upon us.
We thank you especially for one another.
As we give you thanks,
we are mindful of those who have so much less than we do.
As we share these wonderful gifts together,
we commit ourselves to greater generosity toward those
who need our support.
Prepare us for tomorrow.
Tasting the fullness of what we have today,
let us experience some hunger tomorrow.
May our fasting make us more alert
and may it heighten our consciousness
so that we might be ready to hear your Word
and respond to your call.
As our feasting fills us with gratitude
so may our fasting and abstinence hollow out in us
a place for deeper desires
and an attentiveness to hear the cry of the poor.
May our self-denial turn our hearts to you
and give us a new freedom for
generous service to others.
We ask you these graces
with our hearts full of delight
and stirring with readiness for the journey ahead.
We ask them with confidence
in the name of Jesus the Lord.
