Usually at this time of year, churches ask the congregation to share their time, talent, and treasure to support mission and ministry. I approach these with an eye towards a healthy balance. There is an absolute need for all three, working together towards a common vision. We need the hands, the head, and the financial resources to help give flesh to the bones of time and the muscles of talent.
As we develop the budget to present and put to a vote at the annual meeting (mark your calendars for 12/14), I have a request. Prayerfully consider pledging to Trinity. Take it to God in prayer and see where you feel led to help. Having a good handle on our expected finances allows us to respond to the unexpected… those events where we are left thinking, “What can we do?” Find a number that works and in line with your values and budget. But understand that, whether you pledge, give regularly, or give now and then, every cent matters. Your gifts empower your church. Never forget that!
Just as vital to our survival and well-being is the influx of time and talent you bring. What good would it do to have all the money in the world but no ministries to show for it? Or to partially fund programming? Trinity works hard to be good stewards of those same resources given freely by you. Our recent ministry fair highlighted many ways you can get involved. In future Bay View issues, we will focus on a single ministry, shining a light on what it is, why we do it, and how you can take part.
In 2025 we have grown. A lot. Over 190 years, Trinity has seen ups and downs. We have bounced between parish and mission status at least four times in our history, with our most recent parish status lovingly shepherded by Martha Harris and the vestry 20 years ago. We are on the “up” end of that equation, and that is because of all of us. Not just you, and certainly not just me. Trinity is everyone: the person who pledges, the person who shows up on a Thursday afternoon to help set up tables, and the person who bakes dozens of cookies every month. I know our world is going through convulsions right now, but Trinity‘s future does look bright. Do you sense that as well?
Perhaps you don’t hear this enough, so I will say it to you now: thank you. Thank you for being part of this church. Thank you for trusting me as
your rector. Thank you for joining us on this journey of discovery.
Let’s continue following the path together to answer God‘s call.
Love Big and Be Well,
Stephen +

| | | Time to Make the Chrismons! | We will start with this ... | |
The first of our new monthly Holy Health workshops will be held on November 15, beginning at 9 am
in Benedict Hall.
We will use our creative talents and exercise our hands by making CHRISMONS for our Trinity Christmas tree. No special skill is required. Supplies will be furnished.
| | ... and, finish up this this! | |
What is a Chrismon? Chrismons are considered monograms for Christ. Primarily Greek symbols which were used centuries ago by the early Christians, Chrismons incorporate white and gold, symbolizing the purity and majesty of the Son of God.
If you have them, please bring a pair of old tweezers and small scissors. Also, invite a friend to join you!
If you wish to know more, please call Patti at 850-653-6504.
