Bishop Kendrick & Trinity Receive

Seven Parishioners into Membership

It is always a special honor to welcome The Rt. Rev. Russell Kendrick to Trinity, and Sunday's visit marked an especially joyous occasion when he, along with our entire congregation, received seven parishioners into membership.

Pictured are new members Chris Presnell, Mandi Singer, Jason Carter, Kerry Petty, Kathy Chesser, Karen Kessel, and Jo Branch, along with Sr. Warden Rennie Edwards, Bishop Kendrick, and The Rev. Martha Harris.

Bishop Kendrick also held a well-attended forum for parishioners before the Sunday service.

Tour of Homes Hospitality Shines

The Tour of Homes held a kickoff event on February 19 in Benedict Hall to welcome and provide information for the homeowners of the upcoming May 6 tour. In the participants' honor, TOH Hospitality Chair Kerry Petty prepared a thoughtful and inspired menu of delicious dishes. Bonnie Lewis and Susan Farmer assisted Kerry in presenting the artful food that was highlighted by a beautiful arrangement of pastel flowers by Penny Marler.

After the homeowners shared personal stories about their diverse residences, Carrie Kienzle spoke on the history of the tour and its founding in 1992 by church and vestry member Harrette Kennedy to aid in Trinity’s preservation. TOH Vestry Liaison Karen Brown commended the owners for their willingness to open their homes noting the impact such generosity can have -- namely the recent restoration of Benedict Hall. We thank these Trinity volunteers for sharing their gifts to create an impressive evening for all.

Trinity News & Notes:

If you missed the opportunity last Sunday to contribute to the Bishop's Discretionary Fund, you can still do so; just make your check payable to Trinity and note "Bishop's Discretionary Fund". You can drop your check by the office or in the collection plate.

Household items are quite popular at Penny's Worth these days. If you have extra cookware, tableware, towels, sheets, window coverings, or decor that you'd like to share, take it to Penny's Worth on Tuesdays or Saturdays, 10 am - 3 pm.

When you turn 70 and your friends throw you a party in which the kitchen island transforms into a gigantic charcuterie board. Happy Birthday, Karen Kessel.

It was all about the dogs at the annual Barkus Mardi Gras Parade, but their people had a great time, as well, including Bonnie Lewis & Kerry Petty.
