Apalachicola, Florida...............................................................June 14, 2019
Dear People of Trinity,

It is with love and gladness, and a bit of sadness, that I bid you farewell. The Vestry extended my contract to July 14 with the provision, if I received another call before July 14, I would accept it. I have accepted a call to serve Trinity Episcopal Church in Hattiesburg, Mississippi as their long-term Interim. (God does have a sense of humor!)

My last Sunday with you will be Sunday. June 23. The movers are coming June 21 to pack and move me and I will leave after church on Sunday, June 23.

My first Sunday with Trinity, Hattiesburg is July 7. Please put Trinity, Hattiesburg on your prayer list as I begin a new call with them and we will put Trinity, Apalachicola on our prayer list.

You have done a lot of good work over the last year in preparation for your new Rector. I know you will welcome Eric+ in the same way you welcomed me, with warmth and enthusiasm. You are ready to launch into your next chapter and I am confident it will be an exciting time for all.

I am going to miss the rhythm of Trinity, Apalachicola Sunday mornings and the notorious Coffee Hour. I’ll miss all the comings and goings of the many people during the week. I’ll miss the beautiful campus and the beauty of the church building and the quirkiness of Apalachicola. I will miss you, the people of Trinity, who are Trinity Church.

I will miss Shannon -- please take care of her, she is a jewel. She loves Trinity and all the quirks that go along with being a Parish Administrator. She is part of the family.

I’ll keep up with you through the Facebook page and website.

I pray Blessings and Peace for you.

Many friends, relatives, and admirers of Jim Anderson came together on June 6 at Trinity Episcopal Church to honor his life and to participate in his service of Christian burial. The Rev. Joe Hagberg of Panama City conducted the service.

Outreach Meets Summertime Needs
at Home and in Panama City

Trinity’s Outreach Team is responding to two summertime needs for youth and senior citizens in our area:

In Panama City, churches are teaming up to offer a city-wide Vacation Bible School series at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church to meet the summertime needs of children and families affected by Hurricane Michael. Trinity has sent a donation that will be used to purchase art/craft supplies and snacks, as well as meals for overnight volunteers for four sessions, starting July 9. These sessions will create a safe, fun, and spirit-filled experience for about 60 kindergarten through fifth grade children.
Here in Apalachicola, Trinity responded to the Holy Family Senior Center’s “Summer Breeze Fan-raiser” by donating 10 box fans that will help keep seniors in our community cool during the summer months.

The need is still great, so if you would like to donate a fan, just purchase one at our local dollar or hardware stores, and drop it by Holy Family (203 Dr. Frederick S. Humphries St.), Monday-Friday between 10am & 2pm.

Altar Flowers Can Provide a Beautiful Remembrance

You can memorialize, honor, or celebrate a family member, a friend, or an event with beautiful altar flowers. All you have to do is sign up on the Flower Chart in the Narthex; then complete the flower form hanging by the chart, and return it to the office once your date has been chosen. Trinity's Flower Guild will create the arrangement, or, if you prefer, you can provide the flowers yourself.
