Sunday School in Auditorium
There are several ways to expand your faith beyond services on Sunday.
We hold a Bible Study which examines what the lessons for that day have to say to us at 9 a.m., between our 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. services.
We also offer Sunday School during our 10 a.m. and Noon services, which features activities, stories and games for those in K-5th grade. Children are reunited with their parents in time to receive communion.

The Associate's Commentary
Dear Friends,
When I worked in the startup world, I had a coworker who often repeated the phrase “we are building the plane as we fly it” to describe the experience we all shared working for a startup. It is hard to develop new products and services while also growing and managing a real business. In keeping with the airplane metaphor, we invested our time and resources into a few things that never got off the ground. We also had our fair share of successes, things that became the building blocks for future growth.

Sign up at the desk in the Olney Gallery
on Sunday
We are continuing to recruit those interested in participating in a longstanding Trinity tradition where members gather in small groups at each others' homes and share a meal and fellowship.
There will be a number of sign-up sheets at the desk in the Olney Gallery on Sunday, with the idea being you sign up for the area that is closest to where you live.

January 22 | 12:30 p.m.
Tea Room
All are invited to attend September's gathering of Lectio Divina, an ancient contemplative practice where members gather to reflect and meditate on passages from scripture.
It differs from church traditions and services in that participants strive to interact with the quietness of Spirit, and access their faith practice from within and with fellow participants.
Meetings are held the fourth Sunday of every month in the Tea Room.

February 14 | 12:00 p.m.

The next Trinity Seniors meeting will be a Valentine's Day potluck!
Don’t worry, you won’t have to pass out valentines or make valentines boxes, but we will get to know each other better through conversation, sing-alongs, and shared stories.
We will also share the results of the surveys folks completed at our first potluck, and plan for future get-togethers.
There is a sign-up sheet at the desk in the Olney Gallery, or you may email Karen Bruhn.

Illusion 2
January Olney Gallery Exhibit
|
Due to the shooting of a Scottsdale officer in the apartments across from the Cathedral last Friday, our First Friday exhibition was cut short.
To make it up to our artists, we will hold another exhibition on Friday, January 20th from 6 to 9 p.m.
Award-winning and published artist Joanna Proffitt creates photographs that offer an illusion of abstract paintings. She clarifies that her effects are not achieved in editing but are created in-camera using slow shutter speed and movement. Her work has been exhibited in galleries such as Shemer Art Center and the West Valley Art Museum and published in Phoenix magazine.
Jonathan Lameda was born in Caracas, Venezuela. While studying at the University of Barcelona, he was exposed to Informalist Art. His painting achieves an energetic whole through controlled stains and improvised gestures. His diverse palette suggests a variety of emotions. Lameda shares that he takes refuge in his painted forms, putting aside fears and insecurities by painting illusions.

Garfield Food Pantry Needs |
As part of our ongoing support for the food pantry at Garfield Elementary School, each week this space will highlight some of the most in-demand items as reported by our volunteers.
Right now the pantry is most in need of:
-
Dry pasta (spaghetti or egg noodles)(1 lb. boxes)
-
Chicken (12 oz. cans)
-
Dried milk (25 oz. package)
-
Oil (32 oz. plastic jars)
-
Jelly (18 oz. cans)
-
Oatmeal (18 oz. boxes)
-
Elbow macaroni (1 lb. packages)
-
Mixed vegetables (15 oz. cans)
We ask for safety and weight reasons no food that comes in glass containers be donated. Please remember our food bags must be carried and cared for by elementary students!
Thank you to everyone who has helped to support and grow this ministry, and we hope by focusing on a few different items each week we can continue to offer balanced, healthy and nutritional meals to those in need.
