“Almighty God, on this day you opened the way of eternal life to every race and nation by the promised gift of your Holy Spirit . . .”
Dear friends,
This weekend, we celebrate the coming of the Holy Spirit and the Feast of Pentecost in separate events at the Cathedral held on both Saturday and Sunday. We have not hosted a large, outdoor event like these since before the pandemic, and this is a wonderful opportunity for us to share God’s love and our hospitality with our friends, families, and neighbors.
On Saturday, we will host and celebrate together with Hispanic Ministries of our diocese an event entitled “Celebrating Unity, Diversity, and Life.” This is a neighborhood event with music performed by our own Cathedral musicians as well as guest musicians, dancing, food trucks, a bounce house for children, and a service of Holy Eucharist. The event will take place on Saturday, May 27th from 11:00-4:00 under the big tent on the Cathedral lawn.
On the Day of Pentecost, Sunday, May 28th, we will celebrate two services of Holy Eucharist: one at 8:00 in English, followed by our principal, bilingual Choral Eucharist at 11:00. (There will be no services this week at 10:00 and 12:15). Following the 11:00 service, we will hold our Ministry Fair (see more details below) and a Parish Picnic with hamburgers and hot dogs under the big tent on the Cathedral lawn.
Please participate with us in these exciting events as we share together in worship, music, dance, food, and fellowship. And please be sure to invite your family, friends, and neighbors. See you under the big tent!

These are difficult times and many struggle to make ends meet. When you come on Sundays, please consider bringing one or more items of canned or boxed food. Items to consider include canned goods, peanut butter, packaged cereals, paper products, dish and laundry soaps, boxed dinners, toiletry items, and feminine hygiene products. Remember that we cannot accept expired food or items that need refrigeration.
Gift Card Ministry
The LGBTQ+ ministry has organized an on-going Gift Card collection drive to aid in the purchase of perishable food items for food pantry recipients. Our Sacristan - Roberto Soto - personally distributes these cards on a weekly basis. To continue to help this cause or if you or someone you know could benefit from this ministry, please contact Roberto Soto at:

Ministry Fair on Pentecost Sunday
Dear friends,
For several years now, many of the ministries at the Cathedral have been drastically reduced or even dormant. The wonderful news is that these ministries are finding a new beginning and are growing once again. For that reason, we need your help! We need volunteers to help these vital ministries flourish once again.
On the Day of Pentecost, Sunday, May 28th, we will hold a Ministry Fair following the bilingual Holy Eucharist at 11:00 a.m. (please remember, the 10:00 and 12:15 Eucharists are combined at 11:00 on Pentecost). You will have the opportunity to speak with a representative from multiple Cathedral ministries and to sign up as a volunteer. Below are some of the ministries and ministry categories that you might be interested in. Please prayerfully consider your participation in the life and ministry of Trinity Cathedral!
Blessings,
Father Jason
