Cathedral Safety and Security

Dear friends,

The Chapter met two weeks ago, and the important decision was made to renew our commitment to safety and security measures on our Cathedral campus, especially when we gather for worship on Sunday mornings. With so much news of violence in our world, we all agree that the safety of our community must be a top priority now and in the future.

To that end, we have committed ourselves to take the following steps to increase safety and security at Trinity Cathedral:

1.     Beginning this coming Sunday, May 7th, an off-duty, uniformed officer from the Miami Police Department will be present during all worship services (8:00, 10:00, and 12:15).

2.     Ushers and all worship leaders/participants (clergy, vergers, acolytes, etc.) will participate in new security training in the coming weeks.

3.     The Chapter will be reviewing and revising the Cathedral Emergency/Disaster plan in the coming weeks.

4.     New exterior lighting has been installed in the south parking area, and non-working light bulbs have been replaced in the north parking area.

5.     In an effort to secure the perimeter of our campus, we are currently in the process of repairing the fence and wall on 15th street, and we are making sure that the parking lot gates are closed and locked each night.

Please be assured there have been no active signs or threats of violence at the Cathedral. These are simply proactive steps in order to make Trinity a safer place for all of us to gather, to worship, and to serve this community. Please keep the leadership and our entire Cathedral community in your prayers as we make these very important changes.

If you have any questions or concerns, please email me at frjason@trinitymiami.org.

Many blessings,

Father Jason

Easter Book Study with the Provost

Beginning this Sunday, April 16th, join Father Jason to read and discuss The Episcopal Way: Church’s Teachings for a Changing World by Eric H.F. Law and the Rev. Canon Stephanie Spellers (Canon to the Presiding Bishop, Michael Curry). This highly acclaimed book will help us to examine our own identity as Christians in 2023 and to consider the future of Trinity Cathedral in an ever-changing urban community.

Dates: Sundays in the Season of Easter (April 16, 23, 30, and May 7, 14)

Time: 11:15 a.m.

Location: All Saints Chapel

The book can be ordered on Amazon HERE. If you have any questions, please contact Father Jason by email at frjason@trinitymiami.org.

These are difficult times and many struggle to make ends meet. When you come on Sundays, please consider bringing one or more items of canned or boxed food.  Items to consider include canned goods, peanut butter, packaged cereals, paper products, dish and laundry soaps, boxed dinners, toiletry items, and feminine hygiene products. Remember that we cannot accept expired food or items that need refrigeration.

Gift Card Ministry

The LGBTQ+ ministry has organized an on-going Gift Card collection drive to aid in the purchase of perishable food items for food pantry recipients. Our Sacristan - Roberto Soto - personally distributes these cards on a weekly basis. To continue to help this cause or if you or someone you know could benefit from this ministry, please contact Roberto Soto at:
