You Have a Place Here

By Shannon Anderson

Volunteer Coordinator

This year, the Stewardship Team will highlight Trinity’s ministries. This month we’re starting with worship volunteers. Our worship volunteers are involved in nearly every capacity of WOW and Sunday services. They are greeters, ushers, coffee ministers, readers, PowerPoint operators, and Wirecast camera operators, who broadcast our Sunday service on YouTube.

Three of these volunteer positions - greeters, ushers, and coffee ministers - fall under the larger umbrella of hospitality, my focus for today.

Greeters are our PR people. They make a great first impression on visitors and members. They offer a smile to worshippers, connect visitors with our pastors or with Invite Welcome Connect.

Ushers work with the congregation to make the worship service run smoothly. Their duties include turning on lights, greeting people at the doors to the sanctuary, and answering questions. They also collect the offering, usher during communion, and assist with baptisms. Finally, they check pews after each service for items left behind.

Coffee Ministers include ladies and gentlemen who provide a warm coffee hour atmosphere for conversation and fellowship. They help our members and visitors feel appreciated and loved. They set up hot chocolate, treats and coffee; bake treats; clean, and put away coffee supplies.

If you’re looking for a way to share your love for God and Trinity’s people, we have a place for you! Please contact me at 715-258-7688.

Volunteers: An Essential Part of Trinity

By Jacci Peterson

Administrator

Volunteers are an essential part of Trinity and are greatly appreciated. Sometimes things don't always go as planned. The recognition and installation of our volunteers was one of those times. We cannot thank you enough for serving on one or more of our committees, teams, and as delegates. We have prayed for each and every one of you before you even agreed to serve. Thank you for giving your time and talents to Trinity. Please know that even though you may not have received the proper installation we had planned for you that you are loved and free to go about the work God has planned for you.

Requesting the Honor of Your Presence

By Delaney Barbeau

Youth Coordinator

All confirmation students in sixth through eighth grades are requested to attend the 6:15 p.m. Ash Wednesday service on Feb. 22. This service takes place during our regular WOW worship time. After the Ash Wednesday service, during our confirmation time, we will have a large group class and activity night for confirmation students to learn about the what and why of Ash Wednesday to help them gain a better understanding of this church tradition. If your child cannot attend, please email me.

Students are welcome to attend without parents, if needed, but will be asked to sit near the back rows of the sanctuary near me. We look forward to seeing everyone there!

Thank you, parents, guardians, and grandparents for everything you do to support our youth here at Trinity.

Great Teamwork!

Sunday School Coordinator

Thank you to everyone who donated to the Souper Bowl of Caring. We collected 233 items, weighing 215 pounds. The Trinity and Waupaca Area food banks shared our donations.

The Library Team are freshening up the library, and they are offering a large selection of books and DVDs to our congregation to take home for free! You will find the DVDs in the Koinonia Room, and the children’s books on the landing above the main entrance. Please help yourself!

Aid Sought for Turkey & Syria Earthquake Survivors

The death toll climbs to more than 36,000 people after a magnitude 7.8 earthquake rocked Turkey and Syria last week Monday, Feb. 6.

Our Evangelical Lutheran Church in America's Lutheran Disaster Response is committed to supporting ACT Alliance and other partners in responding to the devastation. After the earthquake hit, ACT Alliance member organizations began distributing emergency supplies, including medicines, bedding, and other relief items.

Lutheran Disaster Response has been active in this region for several years, partnering with ACT Alliance, the Lutheran World Federation, and the Middle East Council of Churches to accompany Syrian refugees and internally displaced people with food, water, shelter, health services, and sanitation support. An epicenter from the quake lies near Turkish provinces that host hundreds of thousands of Syrian refugees, which will only exacerbate the refugee crisis in the region.

You can click here to help Lutheran Disaster Response or put a gift in the offering plate at Trinity with the designation “Middle East Crisis”; your donations will be used entirely (100 percent) to provide long-lasting support for those whose lives have been impacted by disasters in the region.

You can also choose to respond to the tragic circumstances by giving to Lutheran World Relief, whose work Trinity has also supported in the past.

We also ask you to pray for all those affected by these devastating events.

2023 Radio & Flower Sponsorships Available

Radio and altar flower sponsorships are now available for 2023. To sponsor a "Trinity Time" radio broadcast, which is especially appreciated by our homebound church members, contact the church office with your preferred date. As for altar flower openings, visit the entryway bulletin board to see the sign-up sheet or contact the church office. These are both great ways to honor a special person or event or to remember a loved one.

The office staff welcomes any questions and will gladly assist with your sign-up date.
