By Pastor Erin
Parts of the Bible can be quite tricky, since they were written so long ago to people whose lives looked very different from ours. A good example of this are the kingly psalms, sung to the king of Israel. Psalm 20 reminded the king (and reminds us as well) that the ultimate authority is God and God’s desire for all humanity is to flourish. In my sermon this week, we heard the reminder that when we look at God, we find Jesus – that God came and lived with us, as we celebrated at Christmas. There is no one we should listen to more than we listen to the voice of God, no matter how loudly other voices may be shouting.

Middle School Lock-In Recap
By Delaney Barbeau
Youth Coordinator
On Friday, Jan. 13, we had 27 middle-school youth join us for a fun night of games, pizza, movies, worship, and devotions. The youth arrived at about 7 p.m. and stayed till the next morning. We used almost every inch of the church for a variety of activities. A favorite game of the group included Romans and Christians—special thanks to Tim Gauerke for coming out to run this game. We had six high-schoolers who assisted with leading activities and supervising the middle-school youth during the lock-in time. Youth had a lot of time to make new friends and to grow existing connections with friends. There was a large group of youth who were able to make it an "all-nighter" (stayed up the whole time) or came very close to it.
Thank you to all the staff, volunteers, and parents who provided support for this youth event!

Synod Youth Gathering
By Delaney Barbeau
Youth Coordinator
Our Synod Youth Gathering is coming up on Feb. 17-19 at Imago Dei Village. This is a new combined event for both middle- and high-school youth. We encourage all grades to attend, especially our middle-school Confirmation students who have missed out on it the last few years due to the pandemic. Our East Central Synod of Wisconsin provided information to describe the event as follows:
God's love is for everyone—but it can be hard to talk about that. How can we take what we have experienced in life to share with others who Jesus is—who he came to love and what he came to do? Join with lots of other students from around the region for a fun weekend of meeting new friends, taking time to play and rest, and reflecting on your own story.
With engaging, age-appropriate workshops; having time in God's glorious creation; and gathered together in one worshiping community for fellowship and FUN, congregations from across the ECSW are invited to bring their middle school and high school youth as we explore the theme, Journey with Jesus.
The registration deadline is Jan. 29. If you would like your child to attend, please contact Delaney or fill out the form here: tiny.cc/tlcsynodyg. The cost for this event is $100, and we ask that this be paid prior to Jan. 29. If the fee is not paid, your child will not be officially registered for the event. If you need assistance paying this fee, reach out to Delaney so she can assist with this.

Volunteers Are Awesome
By Shannon Anderson
Volunteer Coordinator
Thank you, Trinity worship volunteers, for sharing your time and talents with our congregation in December! You make Trinity a wonderful place to worship, and we appreciate you! In addition to our monthly coffee card giveaway, we now have a parking spot for our Volunteer of the Month. This month, the website Random Name Picker chose Mary Plautz as our coffee card winner, and Paul Sletten as our Volunteer of the Month parking spot winner. Thank you, Mary and Paul!
If you’d like a chance to enter the drawing for a coffee card or the Volunteer of the Month parking, make sure you go to tinyurl.com/TLCWorship and sign up to be a worship volunteer. You can choose whether to be a greeter, usher, reader, coffee or treat maker for hospitality, communion server, or PowerPoint or Wirecast operator. We would love for you to join the faithful volunteers who care for us on Wednesdays and Sundays!
For more information, click here to contact Shannon or call 715-258-7688. I’d love to help you sign up for the spot that fits you perfectly!

Honor or Remember Someone in 2023 | |
Radio and altar flower sponsorships are now available for 2023. To sponsor a "Trinity Time" radio broadcast, which is especially appreciated by our homebound church members, contact the church office with your preferred date. As for altar flower openings, visit the entryway bulletin board to see the sign-up sheet or contact the church office. These are both great ways to honor a special person or event, or to remember a loved one.
The office staff welcomes any questions and will gladly assist with your sign-up date.

Where to Look for Weather-Related Updates
