Puzzle Pieces

By Pastor Erin

In my sermon this week, we explored a story Jesus tells that no one quite knows what to do with. This story, which is so difficult to understand, reminds us that even when the puzzle pieces don’t all fit together, God is still with us. It seems that sometimes God is more concerned with being present with us than giving us answers.

Polka Music, Quilts to Fill Trinity's Sanctuary Oct. 2

The wait is over! After a few unfortunately accordion-free years in our sanctuary, Polka Worship will return Sunday, Oct. 2, at both the 8 and 9:30 a.m. services. The Ultimate Polka Band will provide the music. Please join us for a morning of polka music and fun as we worship together with the band. Adding to the festivities, the handiwork of Trinity's Mission Quilters will line the pews Sept. 28-Oct. 2!

Hey! The Annual Hayride Is Around the Corner

Join us after the polka services on Sunday, Oct. 2, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for another year of hayrides and outdoor fun! We hope to see you in Rural for Trinity's annual family Hayride! Dean and Carmen Sondrol's family will once again host this wonderful event at their home at E1434 Main St. in Rural. Come enjoy an afternoon of fellowship, fun, and food!

Now Acquiring Choir Members

The Trinity Choir will resume weekly rehearsals this week. Rehearsals take place in the sanctuary at 7 p.m. on Thursdays. Please contact Pam Lysne or Wanda Eikenbary if you have any questions. We welcome new singers!

Youth Programs in Full Swing This Fall

By Delaney Barbeau

Trinity Youth Coordinator

This past week we kicked off our year of youth activities! Lots of fun and exciting things are happening within the youth and family programs. Last Wednesday night we had our first night of Confirmation class for middle school students. Many of them got to talk to their small groups that they haven’t seen all summeror got to be introduced and hopefully will get to know a few fellow students a little better. I look forward to getting to know more about our middle school youth! Keep an eye out in your email for any youth events that might pop up throughout the year!

Crossover night began with teaching me some traditions the high-schoolers have within the youth group as well as getting to know each other. The high school students learned a lot about trusting each other as we played a real-life version of "Among Us." We used most of the upstairs to complete tasks, avoid elimination, and figure out who really was the imposter! Each first Wednesday of the month we will have a game night! All high-schoolers are welcome to attend. The Senior Youth Gathering is approaching soon, and the registration will be posted this week. If you have a youth interested in attending, please reach out to me. I look forward to spending time with the high school youth, building connections with them, and supporting them wherever their faith journey leads them.

Thanks for a Great Ministry Fair

By Shannon Anderson

Trinity Volunteer Coordinator

Thank you to everyone who participated in the Ministry Fair on Sunday, Sept. 11! The Koinonia Room echoed with such laughter and conversation for the first time in a long time, and it was a joy to be there with all of you. Also, thank you for decorating your tables and taking the time to prepare treats for our church family to enjoy. You made the Ministry Fair a wonderful experience for learning about our ministries and what you do for others. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

What's in the Bible Anyway?

Join Pastor Erin on Sunday, Oct. 23, at 11 a.m. in the Multipurpose Room to learn more about the Bible. We'll talk about how the books of the Bible came together, how we as Lutherans view the Bible, and some of Pastor Erin’s favorite weird stories. There will also be time to ask the questions you’ve always wondered about the Bible. If you'd like to know more or have a question you want Pastor Erin to answer, let her know!

Unmasked Seating Expanded in Sanctuary

Please note: We have removed the masking-required section of the sanctuary. Masks are optional in all parts of the church building at this time.

Trinity Teams: We Want to Hear From You

Do you lead a group or team here at Trinity? The church office is in the process of collecting Ministry Team Charters. These short forms offer a way for the pastors and staff to have brief, clear descriptions of all the wonderful ministries and activities happening at Trinity, as well as make it easy to invite new members to join these teams. If you lead a group or team and haven’t received information about a team charter, please contact Shannon at the church office.

Check Out September's Calendar

Each month you'll find a calendar with all the Trinity events on it. Be sure to save the dates for those important, upcoming events.
