NOTICE BOARD @ TRINITY

Thanks to everyone who gave so generously to the Rectors Discretionary Fund towards a 101st birthday gift for Ann Macleod. A total gift of $3000 has been put on account with a local food store which regularly supplies Ann with freshy made, nutritious meals. Your generous gifts will ensure that this great arrangement can continue for a long time to come, and can continue to be an important part of Ann's care and wellbeing. Thank you.

Renew & Restore, our Capital Campaign for Trinity continues on through the summer!...

It's been a quieter week on campus for Renew & Restore, but behind the scenes it's as busy as ever, as we plan for works happening soon.

During this past week we completed the clearance of a drainage field to the rear of Gulick House, and the new sidewalk and patio areas to Trinity Thrift & Boutique and to The Cottage. Fiber internet is now available for public access within Cox Hall, and the connection to the Community Music School has gone live, too!

The next few weeks will likely see the start of significant works on campus: HVAC installation at Cox Hall, essential electrical and lighting works at Trinity Thrift & Boutique, ironwork fixtures being refitted to the church exterior, and lots more! Please take extra care when visiting campus and please do not attempt to enter any areas or buildings where access is taped off.

If you are considering a gift to Renew & Restore and can start a pledge this fall, we'd be most grateful, and would love to hear from you. These are going to be a very expensive few months at Trinity as we embark on some of the very biggest projects that we need to undertake here. Every dollar of your support is needed and will make a huge difference! Thank you all for your generous support!

We are excited to share the news that Dina Spyropoulos, previously choir section leader here at Trinity, has been appointed as Choir Director and Music Teacher at Glen Burnie High School, Baltimore, MD, starting this fall! Congratulations and best wishes to Dina from all of the Trinity family.

We give thanks for the life of Jane Foster Rhein, a longtime resident of Winchester, VA, who died at her home at the age of 101, on Tuesday, July 18, 2023. Mrs. Rhein was the wife of the late Reverend Francis Bayard Rhein, Rector of Trinity Episcopal Church, Upperville, for twelve years until he retired in 1978. May she rest in peace and rise in glory.

Briggs Williamson, a Trinity Church member and an extraordinary young opera prodigy and rising senior at Interlochen Arts Academy in Michigan, has just unveiled a new music video to aid the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation of Barbados.

The video features Williamson and his sister, as well as the children in Barbados who face the challenges of cystic fibrosis.

Individuals who wish to donate to “Briggs’ Hope” can go to Agape Blessings Cure here and make contributions that will directly improve the lives of children in Barbados suffering from cystic fibrosis Briggs is hoping to raise a minimum of $100,000 to assist the people from Barbados living with CF to obtain the necessary life-saving medication and medical care.

For more information about Briggs Williamson and his inspiring music video, please visit his website here.

Cox Hall Closure Dates Confirmed

As a major part of Renew & Restore @ Trinity, we can now confirm that Cox Hall will close its doors from the slightly delayed date of August 10th, for the complete replacement of the current outdated and broken HVAC system. The building will remain closed until Sunday, September 17th.

This a significant and exciting leap forward in our program of repairs and renewals at Trinity and we are so very grateful for all your generous financial support that is making this happen!

All regular groups who meet in Cox Hall are being contacted to arrange alternative venues to meet elsewhere on the campus. Please note, that there will no public access to Cox Hall for any reason for the entire duration of the project, and that the building will be locked up. Major works are being undertaken and the interior of the building should be treated as a construction site, with all the dangers that this presents.

  • Any individuals or groups requiring access to any items within Cox Hall should arrange to remove and relocate them in advance on August 8th, No access will be given for this purpose after this date.
  • Coffee Hour catering equipment will be relocated to Peard House kitchen, and Coffee Hours will take place underneath the breezeway and around the courtyard throughout the time of the closure.
  • There will no access to restrooms within Cox Hall at any time. Please use the restrooms available within Peard House (Parish Office).
  • There will be no access to the kitchen of Cox Hall for any purposes.
  • The Community Music School of the Piedmont will temporarily relocate its staff to work from Peard House with the Trinity staff team. CMSP music lessons are being hosted at alternative venues around the campus and Upperville.
  • Please do not attempt to enter Cox Hall at any time during the closure. Doing so could put both yourself and our contractors at risk, and is likely to invalidate aspects of insurance protection and expose Trinity to financial liability and risk.

Thank you for your cooperation as we undertake this significant and important project in the life of Trinity, and we offer a very special thank you to the dedicated working group who have worked so diligently to bring this huge project to fruition.

Each Monday, at 12:30pm EST, a small

group from Abbey Dore Deanery group of churches, on the rural borders of England & Wales, U.K. meets online for a short time of led Celtic Prayer. An open

invitation is extended everyone to this simple service, which last around 10 minutes, which offers a spiritual routine and a time of quiet with God, in the midst of busy days.

Join here and you can find a copy of the liturgy here or request a printed copy from the Trinity Parish Office.

Our summer service schedule is now in effect and continues until September 17th. We look forward to welcoming you!

An invitation is extended to the Trinity family to join members of Calvary St George, NYC, for this 2024 pilgrimage to the Holy Land, from February 29 to March 11.

Join the Reverends Jacob Smith, Jonathan Adams, and Molly Jane Layton, and local guide Canon Iyad Qumiri, as we follow in the footsteps of Jesus. We will go to Bethlehem and see where Jesus was born. We will walk where Jesus gathered and taught his disciples. We will go and worship where Jesus died, rose, and ascended into heaven. We will have an amazing time, bonding over the trip of a lifetime. This is an experience you will not want to miss.

Notice: Arrangements for receiving communion

Communion will be offered in the traditional way in both kinds. If you do not wish to receive wine from the chalice please simply walk by the chalice station and return to your seat after receiving the wafer. Please note that intinction (the dipping of the wafer into the wine within the chalice) is not permitted.

At each service the celebrant will announce the arrangements for administration of communion.

We're pleased to announce that we're now able to accept Visa, Mastercard, and American Express card payments at the Parish Office for payment of general goods and services.

Please note that this does not concern financial gifts and giving which should continue to be given in the usual ways, if at all possible, using our online PushPay service. Thank you.
