Bishop Candidate Zoom Conversations End Tomorrow

The Transition Committee invites all laypeople and clergy of the diocese to attend Candidate Conversations in November. Candidate Conversations will be held online and will give the people of the diocese the opportunity to ask questions and learn more about the bishop candidates prior to the election, scheduled to take place December 12.

Saturday, November 14 at 12 pm, hosted by the Aurora and Oak Park Deaneries

Questions from the host deaneries will be featured during their sessions, and the session hosted by the Hispanic Affairs Committee will feature questions from the Hispanic/Latinx communities of the diocese. Please note: all of the Candidate Conversations listed above are open to anyone who would like to attend.

For more information about Candidate Conversations, including frequently asked questions, please visit the bishop search and transition website. Questions may be directed to the Transition Committee via email.
Farewell to Bishop Lee

On Saturday, December 5, 2020 at 4 p.m., the Transition Committee will host a Zoom gathering to wish Jeff and Lisa Lee and their family well as his retirement approaches.

Bishop Lee has invited a number of parishioners, clergy, and bishops to offer short videos, and both he and Lisa will have an opportunity to address the diocese. He will also share some parting thoughts on his episcopal tenure.
Are Our Records Up to Date?

We know, things change!

If your phone, address or email has changed, please drop us a line. Please also let us know if you notice we have an incorrect birthday or anniversary day (it's OK to just send the month and day, don't send the year by email).

We appreciate your assistance in helping us keep accurate records!
Religious Leaders United Annual Interfaith Thanksgiving Service

Every year, the local interfaith clergy group, Religious Leaders United, hosts an Interfaith Thanksgiving Service on the Sunday before Thanksgiving.

This year, due to the COVID pandemic the service will be virtual, held on Zoom. The service will be on Sunday, November 22nd at 3:00 p.m. on Zoom.

This year's preacher is the Rev. Anne Jolly, Rector of St. Gregory Episcopal Church in Deerfield. This is a wonderful service with participation from the many faith communities in our area. It also features beautiful music. I invite you to attend this beautiful and moving service.

Volunteer & Giving Opportunities
Children’s Books for Tri-Con

We are looking forward to hosting a Book Distribution Program for the children of Tri-Con later this fall. To do this... WE NEED BOOKS!

New books or gently used books, suitable for 3- to 5-year-old children would be wonderful. (Sorry, no baby board books, though.) A collection bin will be placed on the stage marked, TRI-CON BOOK BIN.

So, if you would like to donate new books or your children or your grandchildren have outgrown some old favorites, we would greatly appreciate your donations! Thank you!

Opportunities to Volunteer for Ministry

The Outreach committee needs volunteers to help. We need people to volunteer to be members of our outreach committee.

Committee members will evaluate current outreach efforts, brainstorm and research new outreach efforts, raise money and materials for those in need, advertise and communicate outreach efforts and needs, and participate in outreach efforts in our community.

Please let Fr. Court (, John Risko (, or Claire Esker ( know.
Friendly, Welcoming People Needed

If you are a friendly, welcoming person who loves Trinity, we could use you on the Hospitality Committee.

If you would like to be involved in helping to welcome newcomers to our parish, help with Funeral or Wedding receptions, or oversee the coffee hour efforts, please contact Jodie McCann ( and let her know.
Building & Grounds Seeks People

Are you handy at fixing things? Do you enjoy little projects to repair and beautify? Do you love our gorgeous, old building?

The Buildings and Grounds committee could use your help. If you are interested, please contact Priscilla McGraw (

Supporting Community Meals

Currently Catholic Charities has the community meals at St. James in Highwood on hold. In an effort to support the community by both serving meals and supporting local business, Catholic Charities is having local restaurants cater the meal by creating to-go meals. Those who need food then drive up and the meals are handed to them.
Catholic Charities does need money to fund these efforts and have asked those groups who had volunteered to donate money to their effort. If anyone would like to donate, here is the information:

  • Checks can be made out to: Catholic Charities Lake County
  • Please put “Highwood Community Supper” in the memo line.
  • Send checks to: Kristen M. Flanagan, Catholic Charities, 671 S. Lewis Avenue, Waukegan, IL 60085

Worship & Formation Opportunities
