Message from the President
The Trinity family is saddened by the closing of Guerin Prep HIgh School. As an alumna of a now closed Chicago-Catholic high school (Marillac) my heart breaks for their entire community. Please keep their students, parents, faculty, staff, administration, and alumni (including Guerin Prep, Mother Guerin, and Holy Cross) in your thoughts and prayers as they make this difficult transition over the next few months. Know that we welcome Gators to explore Trinity as an option for their high school and will facilitate opportunities as families begin to research the best fit for their daughters.

Laura Curley
President.

From Trinity's Library
Wondering what to read next? Our Librarian, Ms. McGreal, has this to offer: "The books that stick with us most are often the ones that broaden our perspective and challenge our worldviews. These young adult books on kindness highlight humanity’s inexplicable bond and the impact our actions have on that connectedness."

How Are We Doing?
If you have not done so already, please take a few minutes to complete the survey so we can continue to improve and meet the needs of our students.

Class of 2020 College Updates
Seniors are encouraged to check out the Scholarship List posted in Naviance. Students have access to information about over 100 different scholarship opportunities, many with deadlines in December, January and February. Don't pass up the opportunity to earn money for college. Encourage your senior to apply today. (And remind them to bring acceptance and scholarship letters to Ms. Granholm after break!)

Class of 2021 College Planning Kick Off Meeting- Tuesday, January 28th
Parents are strongly encouraged and students are required to attend this meeting focused on the college search and application process. We’ll discuss the college planning timeline; roles and responsibilities of the counselor, student, and parent; important factors in admissions decisions; helpful resources including Naviance- our online college planning platform; and paying for college.  Students and parents may attend one of two meeting times: 8:00-9:15 a.m. or 7:00-8:15 p.m. in the Auditorium.

Although summer seems very far away, it's not too early for students to start thinking about how they'll spend their time over summer break. Trinity has a robust listing of summer enrichment opportunities including: pre-college courses; writing, medical, and engineering camps; leadership symposiums; study abroad opportunities; summer jobs; and internships. Check out the  Summer Enrichment Opportunities  website (information is added and updated as we receive it). Application deadlines begin in January.

ACT Prep
We are offering an ACT preparation course at Trinity to help students get ready for the April 4, 2020 exam through Academic Approach. This course is best suited for students who are interested in improving key skills in reading, writing, math, and science to prepare for the ACT. As part of the course, each student will also sit for two full-length practice tests plus the diagnostic exam. These were scheduled with the school at intervals deemed to best fit within the school calendar.
