Trinity Kids Happenings
A Note from Rachael
We are providing these resources to help you disciple your children at home and have "Family Sunday School" together. We have been learning from the Old Testament, following the Israelites' journey out of Egypt. This week's lesson reveals that even a godly leader like Moses can sin and disobey God. These are timely lessons that remind us of God's standards for us, as well as His mercy and faithfulness to us.

I hope you've also been learning the Sword Bible Memory verse together -- the 10 Commandments. Check out the visual our amazing Sunday School teachers put together for you, as well as the  link to the video of some of our very own Trinity Kids teaching the 10 Commandments!

Finally, we are providing a coloring page and "Sermon Notes for Kids" to help your kids engage in Sunday's sermon, as well as assist you in discussing the message together. We miss you and are praying for you, and we look forward to seeing you again soon!!

Love in Christ,

Bible story from  The Gospel Story Bible : "Moses Disobeys God"

Object Lesson:  Again and Again

The object of this exercise is to help the children see that they are more like Israel than they  realize.

Ask the children to think of the sin that they commit most often (use the whiteboard to list some of the common sins). Ask for volunteers to share their sin. They are likely to offer items like disrespecting their parents, getting angry with their siblings, etc.

Ask them to think for a minute and tell you how many times they have done this sin. Ask the kids if anyone else has repeated this sin several times.

Then ask the following questions:
■ Who are we most like in the Bible story?
(We are most like Israel who kept on sinning by not trusting God.)

■ Why did God give Israel water even though they complained and even though their leader, Moses, disobeyed?
(The answer is grace! God was merciful to give them what they did not deserve. Psalm 103:10 tells us that God does not treat us as our sins deserve.)

5. Honor your father and your mother.
6. Do not murder.
7. Do not commit adultery. (Stay faithful to your husband or wife. Don't have another boyfriend/girlfriend when you are married.)
