The Rev. Evelyn Wheeler celebrated Mass with Holy Eucharist this past Sunday June 21.

Next Sunday July 5 at 9am, Lydia Babbitt will lead Morning Prayer, and Maty Smegielski will preach..

Clergy Search Update!

Your Executive Committee (Sr Warden, Jr Warden, Clerk, Treasurer and Building Warden), and the four congregation members who volunteered for this duty at our February 2026 Annual Meeting, met for online interviews with our two candidates for the call to Trinities Lime Rock and Torrington.

Both were interesting and informative meetings at which we asked the candidates the same questions. Detailed notes were taken and distributed to the entire committee. 

Discussion followed both interviews. 

Members were given some time to consider the meetings privately and prayerfully after which time your Sr Warden polled the group, requesting their answer to the following question: 

Do you feel Trinity Torrington should 

1) Continue discussion regarding a possible call with Candidate One

2) Continue discussion regarding a possible call with Candidate Two 

3) Continue discussion regarding a call with both candidates 

4) Continue discussion regarding a call with neither candidate. 

A strong consensus was reached that we should continue conversation regarding a possible call with Candidate One but not Candidate Two. Trinity Lime Rock came to the same consensus.  

Candidate Two was contacted and thanked for their willingness to put themselves forward, for their candor and their time. They were also informed that their ministerial strengths simply did not meet our needs at this time. 

We now move on to a second, more in depth round of visits and interviews with our candidate. 

They will visit both parishes, learn more about who we are, what the area is like, what our physical plant entails and much more. 

Your Vestry will also conduct an additional, in depth interview during that visit, which will be remotely observed by the Vestry of Trinity Lime Rock. Your Vestry will have the opportunity to remotely observe the interview which will take place during the candidate's visit to Lime Rock as well. 

So there's a lot happening. A lot. And while this whole process seems to take forever, it takes the time that it takes. And it is not a process which anyone wants rushed. 

Please keep both of our candidates in your prayers. This is not easy for them and takes great courage. 

Please also keep your Vestry and the Vestry of Trinity Lime Rock in your prayers as well. We are grateful for one another in this work but we are even more grateful for our beloved Parish as a whole. All of this effort will be worth the right call in the end.

We definitely need some people to step forward and host Coffee Hour. It's very easy and very appreciated! Just sign up for a date, then bring in some snacks (home-made or store-bought), set up the table, percolate percolate percolate, then clean up.
