The mission of Trinity Church is to share Christ's love and grace in a vibrant community whose joyful spirit empowers people to do God's work.

One Thanksgiving my family decided we would each give another a “kindness” secretly during the day. The three kids were teenagers. Their dad and I worked long hours and traveled a lot for our jobs, and goodness knows we could use a dose of kindness in our hectic household.
So we drew names and no one knew who had drawn whose name. The lovely finding at the “reveal” at the end of the day? Not a one of us could guess who had their name because we’d all received so many kind deeds from each other during that day. That led to the realization that we were actually pretty good to each other most of the time but probably weren’t taking the time to reflect on that.
I think that’s a metaphor for what’s happening to us at Trinity in our time of Discernment. So many good things are happening, overshadowed by a vague and at times acute anxiety about not having our own rector. We support each other, we love each other, and we step up when help is needed, either at the church, for our fellow parishioners, or for others in need in our community beyond.
In this time of Thanksgiving, I am so grateful for the many kindnesses from my own family and from my Trinity church family, as well.

Claire Curcio , Senior Warden
Trinity Discernment Prayer

O Everlasting, Omniscient, and Loving God
We confess that our daily worries and concerns often blind us to your voice and guidance in our lives. We thank You for this time of change, may it be an opportunity to grow together more closely as followers of your son Jesus Christ as we work to discern your path forward for our congregation. We pray that You will watch over the Bishop, diocesan transitional ministry team, the parish clergy, members of our vestry, and the other leaders of our church as they lead us on a new path for our parish. We pray for the members of the discernment committee as they endeavor to do Your holy work in calling a new rector for Trinity. We pray for all the members of our parish family during this time of transition that we come closer to You and feel your presence in our hearts. AMEN.
This year’s THANKSGIVING OFFERING will go to El Hogar, a children’s home and school in Honduras that Trinity has been supporting for many years. El Hogar works with boys and girls who need a home, educates them so that they can find work, cares for them, and helps them to know that God loves them. El Hogar is a safe oasis in one of the most violent and dangerous countries in the world. Make your check to Trinity Church with either “El Hogar” or “Thanksgiving Offering” in the memo, use your special Thanksgiving Offering envelope, or go to Trinity’s website and click on Online Giving and include El Hogar in the memo. How much difference can Trinity make in the children’s lives?
on Sunday, December 8th!

She will preach and celebrate at the 9:15 and 11 am Eucharists. The 11am Eucharist will be Rite II Holy Eucharist w/Confirmations. There will be a reception to welcome the Bishops and celebrate with our confirmands following the service.  Click here if you would like to help with the reception, or call the office.

Christmas Outreach at Trinity is in full swing, the names and wishes of the children have been posted. This year the Salvation Army had some changes to their guidelines. Many elves make light work, please join us by signing up on the Big Red Door in this day of fellowship and fun. Thank you to all of you for your support of our Christmas Outreach program. SUPPORTING GRIEVING PERSONS DURING THE HOLIDAYS—Most everyone knows a loved one, a friend, a neighbor, or a co-worker who has lost someone and is struggling with how to deal with the holidays. Coping while grieving especially when others around you appear to be in a festive mood can be exhausting. Come join Randall Clingenpeel in the lounge at 10:20 AM on Sunday, December 15 for pointers on how to help grievers cope with the holidays.
CHRISTMAS POINSETTIAS will decorate the church this Christmas. The cost is $10 per plant. If you wish to donate a plant, envelopes are available in the church entryway. Please place your donation in the offering or bring it to the office by Monday, December 16th.
ELECTRONIC GIVING—Small laminated cards are available in a basket at the back of the church for those who want to participate in the worship service by placing something in the offering plate but actually give their money on-line. Prudence Jarvis brought us the idea and made the cards. If you give electronically and wish to have the tangible experience of Sunday participation, please pick up one of the cards when you come in and place it in the plate during the offering. If you don’t now give electronically, you can take a picture with your phone of the QR code on the back of the card and be directed to the Trinity site that shows you how to begin doing that. We are so thankful for the generosity of Trinitarians, however you wish to deliver it.

DONATIONS FOR OUR HOMELESS NEIGHBORS—It’s Cold Weather Sheltering time again in Fredericksburg, which brings with it van loads of hungry homeless to our Friday Micah Breakfasts. Our numbers have swollen to 60 guests already this year. This has made it important for us to ask our Trinity Family for help. Our volunteers supply the food necessary for one breakfast a month, along with some donations of toiletries, socks and warm clothes. But when the numbers spike this time of year, we could really use your help! If you travel regularly and stay in hotels, would you consider bringing your unused hotel shampoo, conditioner, hand lotion, etc. to Trinity? Also, as you purchase or are gifted with NEW warm sweaters, coats, hats, gloves, would consider bringing your give away items for our Micah Breakfast friends? We will have a marked bin in the church entryway to receive your donations. Thank you in advance for your generous support!

Many thanks to all the volunteers who held the TURKEY BASKET and many, many thanks to all of you who contributed to the Turkey Fund. The Turkey Fund collected $1681 which we are using to buy turkeys, hams and chickens for the Thanksgiving and Christmas families who come to Tuesday Night Outreach for food and financial help. We provided food for 78 families for Thanksgiving last week. They were so thankful for our help.
