We welcome Gregory Conarroe as our preacher. Gregory is a postulant for ordination to the priesthood through the Episcopal Diocese of New York and a PhD candidate in intercultural studies at Fuller Theological Seminary. He has been attending Trinity since 2024 with his wife, Jenna, and their two daughters.

Women's Group: Welcome Back Covered Dish Dinner

Join the Women at the Well when they initiate the 2026-2027 session of Trinity’s women’s group on August 29th. They will be reading JOYFUL ANYWAY by Kate Bowler. This gathering will be held at Samarkand (2550 Treasure Dr) in their Fireside Room. Please RSVP with the type of dish you will bring. Parish Choir Returns
Rehearsal Begins Thursday, September 10
After the summer hiatus, the Parish Choir will return to sing at Trinity beginning on September 10. The choir rehearses on Thursday evenings from 7-9pm. On Sunday mornings, the choir warms up beginning at 9:05am and sings for the 10am Eucharist. This season (September-May), the choir will also have the opportunity to sing Choral Evensong once a month. Proficiency in reading musical scores, pitch accuracy, and a keen sense of intonation are required to join the choir. Book Study Group
Creating Community and Building Resilience
Begins Tuesday, September 8, 6-8pm
Many of us at Trinity are trying to discern ways forward in these current troubling times. We are concerned about our own aging, isolation, and loneliness. We are wondering how our faith can inform our responses to these disordered conditions. What can we as individuals do about any of these things? What can we as a parish do? In response to these questions, you are invited to join in a series of conversations exploring e the impact of climate change, as well as the potential for building a community at Trinity to support one another and take action when called. In this twelve-week program (September 8-November 24), we will study Life After Doom, Brian McLaren’s book about global climate change and discuss his suggestions for resiliency. Sessions will be led by parishioner Helene Gardener, who serves as a Lay Eucharistic Minister, Prayer Minister, and is a retired UCSB environmental studies professor. Men's Group Breakfast
Saturday, September 12, 8-10am
The Trinity men will gather again for fellowship and breakfast in the Guild Hall, with guest speaker Karl Sandin MD, MPH. Karl is a physician and public health practitioner who will be leading a discussion about the contradictory nature of the US health care systems. How can a nation that leads the world in medical innovation lag in health outcomes, all while spending significantly more per capita than any other high-income or developed nation in the world? Noon Concert @ Trinity: Life Is Beautiful Tuesday, September 15, 12:15pm
Join us for 30 minutes of midday music with Piano Four Hands with Duo Booyah; Jacopo Giacopuzzi and Alvise Pascucci. The program includes: Ottorino Respighi's "The Pines of Rome" and a medley of Italian film scores by Nino Rota, Ennio Morricone & Nicola Piovani. Weekly Centering Prayer Resumes
Wednesday, September 23, 3-4pm
As Trinity's new program year opens, once again all are invited to join in the practice of Centering Prayer. For the coming season, leadership will be shared by the Revs. Christine Purcell, Sarah Thomas and John Draper, meeting
weekly on Wednesdays. Centering Prayer is a form of receptive silent prayer in which we welcome God’s presence and activity within us. Drawing on the ancient practices of early Christianity, it is widely practiced in varying forms in diverse denominations.
Note about parking during the week: please use street parking or public lots. The Village Properties lot on Micheltorena Street is only available to us on Sundays and the Trinity lot is reserved for staff. An Introduction to The Soul of Aging

What is the Soul of Aging Program?
In this program, using the Circle of Trust process, we will approach “the art” of aging by exploring many soulful invitations that our maturing years offer us. This curriculum was developed for those who yearn to address, understand, surrender to, and be transformed by the aging process, with the benefits of a supportive community. Monthly Mini Retreats will be offered on October 24 and November 21 for those who wish to go deeper. Facilitators: Georgia Noble & Caryl Casbon.

My name is Jeff Shaffer, and I am the Regional Catalyst for Kingdom Causes in Santa Barbara. I wanted to thank you for the generous grant funding you have given us to support our work to end the Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children & Youth in Santa Barbara. Your gift has allowed us to begin prevention programs on the Eastside and Westside of Santa Barbara, build a Business Coalition to support local agencies serving youth, and mentor the next generation of young adults at Westmont College and youth with Students for Survivors high school clubs throughout Santa Barbara. New Bishop Meet and Greet

The Church of the Epiphany invites Trinity parishioners, and all members of the churches in Deanery One, to welcome our new Bishop, the Rt. Rev. Dr. Antonio José Gallardo Lucena on September 12. Santa Barbara Chamber Players Concert
"Fly Me to the Moon"

Join the Santa Barbara Chamber Players for a concert for the whole family at First Presbyterian Church, 21 E. Constance Avenue. Fly Me to the Moon will feature music through the ages along with images from the Hubble space telescope to make this a fun, educational adventure. The Santa Barbara Symphony’s Music Van program will be there too. If you or the kids want to try out one of the instruments in the orchestra, now’s the chance! The Music Van has every sort of string, woodwind, or brass instrument for people to try out. Children under 18 are are admitted for free. General admission is $10. Tickets are available online here and at the door.
