All copies of Bread for the Journey, the booklet containing daily Lenten meditations by and for the people of Trinity, are now out in the hands of parishioners, visitors, and friends. If you were not able to get your hands on one, you can access a PDF that includes all of the daily readings here.

Men's Group

Monday, March 2, 4-5pm

Trinity Men’s Group meets at 4pm on the first Monday of each month in the Trinity Library. After the meeting, anyone who finds it convenient is welcome to gather at the Santa Barbara Public Market to share a meal.

Lenten Series on the Psalms Continues

Wednesdays, March 4, 11, 18, 25, 6:30 - 8:30pm

The Psalms are the heartbeat of the Hebrew Scriptures: raw, poetic, and startlingly honest. They give voice to human joy and grief, rage and hope, doubt and deep trust. In the Psalms, we see that nothing is too messy or too much to bring before God. We’ll engage in practices of reflection, journaling, song, and other means, as ways to connect more deeply with these ancient poetic scriptures that we read or hear every Sunday, but may not know much about.

Women's Group: Women at the Well

Saturday, March 7, 3-4:30pm

Join Women at the Well with their book, Cole Arthur Riley’s This Here Flesh. In this intergenerational book, Riley invites us to descend into our own stories and find that our humanity is not an enemy to faith, but evidence of it. Trinity's Women's Group meets monthly in the Youth Group room (enter from Micheltorena Street). An optional dinner at 5pm follows at The Natural Cafe on Hitchcock. Newcomers welcome!

Presentation on the Mexicali Service Trip

Sunday, March 8, 11:30am

A subset of Trinity's Youth Group went to the Mexicali/Calexico border on February 20-22 to visit families living at the Posada del Migrante Shelter. Come hear their stories at a special coffee hour presentation and bake sale in the Parish Hall on March 8th at 11:30am. The bake sale will help raise support for the shelter Trinity visits annually. 2025 Annual Report

We asked the clergy, staff, and lay leaders to submit reflections of their ministries from the past year, inspired by the lyrics from Seasons of Love, from the musical RENT. We received over 35 submissions that were edited by parishioner and communications volunteer, Molora Nichols. Thank you Molora! Justice and Outreach (JOC)

Interfaith Dinner at the Islamic Society

Sunday, March 8, 5pm

Along with Lent, the Islamic Holy Month of Ramadan has begun due to a rare, coincidental alignment of the Christian liturgical calendar and the Islamic lunar calendar. The Islamic Society of Santa Barbara invites Trinity parishioners to a special Ramadan dinner, known as an iftar, on March 8, beginning at 5pm. No special attire or preparation is necessary, as we will be the Society's guests for dinner. However, please bring your favorite dessert to share as a thank-you gesture for the hospitality of our friends of the Islamic faith, and please arrive on time, as an iftar begins by tradition at sunset. The Islamic Society is located at 302 N Los Carneros Rd in Goleta. The number of guests is limited so, if you're interested, please sign up at the welcome table or email Eileen Read, eileenwhiteread@gmail.com.

Sacred Resistance Book Study via Zoom

Tuesdays in Lent, 7pm

Join the Los Angeles Sacred Resistance group for an online book study on Fr. John Dear's, The Gospel of Peace: A Commentary on Matthew, Mark and Luke from the Perspective of Nonviolence. It is the first ever commentary on the Synoptic Gospels from the perspective of active nonviolence, in the tradition of Gandhi and Dr. King. In this new and original work, he walks us through every line of the three synoptic Gospels pointing out Jesus’ practice and teachings of nonviolence each step of the way and invites us to become practitioners of creative nonviolence like Jesus. Message from Jean Davis, Climate Environmental Action Circle

Beginning in March, the City of Santa Barbara’s Sustainability & Resilience Department is launching "Own Your Impact", a 10 month campaign encouraging residents to take simple, meaningful actions to care for their neighborhoods and the environment. Through monthly themes and actions, prizes, and other incentives, the campaign empowers residents to make a difference right where they live. Children and Youth Programs

Nursery, Sundays, 9am-noon

The nursery is available on Sundays for infants and for toddlers under the age of three and a half. It is located on the second floor of the Parish Hall.

Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS)

Sundays, 9-11:30am

CGS is a Montessori-based religious formation program for child parishioners ages 3½ - 12. Children may arrive as early as 9am in the Children and Youth building behind the sanctuary. Children will rejoin families in time for Eucharist in the Sanctuary.

Youth Group on Thursdays

Youth Group is a time of connection and community for teen parishioners, ages 13-18. For more information on children, youth and young adult programs, please contact Theo Patterson, cydirector@trintiysb.org.

University of Notre Dame Glee Club in Concert at Trinity

Thursday, March 12, 7pm

The Notre Dame Glee Club is more than just an all-male vocal ensemble. As the first glee club established at a Catholic university, they carry over a century of tradition and brotherhood. Come listen to classical choral music, folk songs, and spirituals. Free admission, offerings taken.

Folk Orchestra of Santa Barbara: Irish/Celtic Concert at Trinity Saturday, March 14, 7pm

Just in time for St. Patrick’s Day, come and experience an exciting collection of traditional Irish tunes with touches from Brittany, Galicia, and more! Harps, Fiddles, Accordion, Bagpipes and You! Founded by Adam Phillips in 2017, the Folk Orchestra is made up entirely of LOCAL musicians who give their time and talent to creating beautiful music. Will-call tickets available online.

News from the National Church

Your Input Needed! Two Important Surveys to Participate In.

Former parishioner April Thomson (who moved to Washington state) has worked for a year with her General Convention Task Force to develop a survey to study the diversity of how Episcopalians create loving, life-giving, and faithful relationships/households. She invites Trinity parishioners to take the survey by March 1st, to help collect as much raw data as possible to advise General Convention 2027 on next steps.

Another survey offered by the Task Force on LGBTQ+ Inclusion aims to help the church better understand how it honors the dignity of all people and where work remains to be done. Members across the church—those who are LGBTQ+ and those who are not—are encouraged to share about their experiences with pastoral care, sacramental access, representation in leadership, and institutional accountability.
