Elizabeth has been isolating at home with mild cold-like symptoms since her positive COVID test. As of this Sunday, she will be past the CDC recommended 10 day quarantine period, and will be back at Trinity presiding at both the 8am and 10am services. Sarah Thomas also tested positive for the coronavirus, and continues to recover from her mild symptoms at home. Many thanks to our Rector Emeritus Mark Asman for filling in as presider last Sunday while Elizabeth and Sarah were out sick.

Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS)
Sunday, May 15 - Children and Youth Celebration Sunday
Catechesis of the Good Shepherd program begins as early as 9am. Please arrive as close to 9am as possible so that children have time to prepare for the 10am service where they will shadow the adults serving during the liturgy.
Level 1 children are invited to bring a bouquet of flowers that morning to place on the altar during the offertory.
If your children plan to attend church on Sunday and you have not heard from Diana Small about how your child is participating, please email her at dsmall@trinitysb.org.
In the children's building, we host children who are too young to receive vaccinations. For this reason, we require that all people (children and adults) wear masks when in the children's building.

Farewell Party for Carrie and Grey Brothers
Saturday, May 21, 5-7pm
Your help is needed for this special event honoring Grey and Carrie's 30+ years of service at Trinity. Please visit the online sign up list to add your name, or email Mary Ann Paxton in the front office.
Trinity staff is collecting contributions from the parish to give to Grey and Carrie as a farewell gift. If you’d like to contribute, please do so by May 30 by mail, during the Sunday offertory, or online. Please designate your gift to “Grey and Carrie” (checks should be made payable to Trinity). Donations may be made online by choosing "Special Collections" in the drop down menu and adding "Grey and Carrie" to the "special instructions".

The Trinity Initiative Committee looks forward to sharing the results of the parish survey at the all-Parish forums on Sunday, May 22 after both services. Festive refreshments will be served and there will be plenty of time to offer comments, ask questions and discuss the best Trinity possible. Childcare will be offered for the forum after the 10am service. If you are at home, you'll be able to connect (in lieu of Zoom coffee hour) using the weekly meeting link. Please plan on attending this important gathering.

Trinity's Cookie Walk
Information Meeting at the Rectory
Sunday, May 22, 4-5:30pm
Attention bakers, food fans, and anyone interested in promoting Trinity in our community - you are invited!
On May 22, come to the rectory to enjoy some home baked cookies and liquid refreshments, and learn more about Trinity's Cookie Walk. A Holiday Cookie Walk, a staple of the Midwest and South - think church bake sale on steroids - was introduced in a scaled-down version during last year's Alternative Christmas Market. In December 2022, we hope to roll out Trinity's Cookie Walk as its own fundraiser, advertising throughout the community.
We will need a lot of volunteer leaders to help make this happen. Whether you are a cookie baker, or are good at social media, are skilled at arranging and decorating and making things beautiful, excellent at recruiting volunteers, know how to work a calculator and make change, or just generally want to help more people know about our church community, this event is for you.
The rectory is located at 2325 Wellington Ave, about 3/4 of a mile north of the church. RSVP '"yes" to the office (office@trinitysb.org) so we know how many people to plan for. If you're interested in helping, but are unable to attend on May 22, please let the office know that, as well. Thanks, and we look forward to seeing you on May 22.

Volunteer Opportunity
Summer Sacred Arts
Diana Small, Director of Children and Youth, is gathering volunteers to work with children in the Parish Hall for Summer Sacred arts every Sunday in summer during the 10am service, starting June 12.
Volunteers would need to arrive by 9:45am and assist helping the children for roughly an hour, until communion time. Activity leaders are also needed. Perhaps you have a creative project to share with the children (visual art, music, sciences, anything creative that piques the spiritual curiosity of the child). A sign-up sheet will be at coffee hour on Sundays or email Diana at dsmall@trinitysb.org if you are interested.

Home Communion
If you would like to receive the Eucharist, but are not coming to Trinity for worship, call (805)965-7419 or email the office to request home communion. One of our eucharistic visitors will set up a time to bring communion to your home.

Trinity welcomes The Very Rev. Dr. Gary Hall
June 12: Trinity Sunday
Our former Interim Rector, Gary Hall, also Retired Dean of the Washington National Cathedral and Seabury-Western Theological Seminary will be with us as our guest preacher at both services on June 12.
Gary recently preached at the memorial service for George Regas, Rector Emeritus of All Saints Pasadena. Read Gary's sermon here.

Trinity's Justice and Outreach Council Sponsors
The Summer Speaker Series: Justice and Engagement
On four consecutive Sundays, June 19 and 26, July 3 and 10, Trinity will invite guest preachers at both services and speakers for a program after the 10am service.
Each Sunday will focus on the work associated with one of our four major grant recipients:
- ILDC (Immigrant Legal Defense Center)
- CEC (Community Environmental Council)
- Foodbank of SB County
- CAUSE (Central Coastal Alliance for a Sustainable Economy)

PATH Fundraiser

Take a trip out to the Valley and enjoy a lovely outdoor event featuring wine from Sunstone Winery, delicious bites from Leonardo’s Ristorante, live local music, a cornhole tournament, and a live auction. Tickets available online and sponsorships are welcome.
Proceeds from the festival go towards supportive services for our neighbors experiencing homelessness in Santa Barbara. In the last year, PATH has provided services for more than 18,000+ people and permanently housed more than 1,200 people.
