Catechesis of the Good Shepherd
Sunday, May 22, 9am
Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) program begins as early as 9am. The children continue to explore Eastertide. The photo on the right is from last week's Children and Youth Celebration Sunday; Cali and Ana shadowed acolytes Terre, Zoe and Shea.
In the children's building, we host children who are too young to receive vaccinations. For this reason, we ask that all people (children and adults) wear masks when in the children's building.

Youth Group

All Parish Forum
The All Parish Forum happens after the 10am worship service this Sunday. Perhaps some youth want to participate in sharing their voice as we look to Trinity's future. Youth can also assist Diana in the garden where children will be playing and working on art.

Bibles and notepads will be on a table at coffee hour for parishioners to write notes of encouragement to place in the bibles of Trinity's two graduating seniors, Liam Hess and Izzy Sweda.

Graduation Sunday
Sunday, May 29, 10am service
A special service where we celebrate the children who will move into a new atrium next year, honor our graduating seniors, and thank the catechists for their devotion. CGS will still begin as early as 9am this morning.

CGS Pentecost Sunday and
Final Sunday of CGS, June 5
At the 10am worship service, we will celebrate Pentecost in the model of Catechesis of the Good Shepherd's "The Gifts" presentation. 6th grader, Claire Carey-Pisani will preach and children will help lead the liturgy.
CGS will still begin as early as 9am this morning and this will be our final CGS gathering. Summer Sacred Arts begins June 12th as early as 9:45am in the Parish Hall.

Farewell Party for Carrie and Grey Brothers
Saturday, May 21, 5-7pm
Join in the fun at this special event honoring Grey and Carrie's 35 years of service at Trinity. Refreshments will be served, and there will be music, stories, special guests, and toasts shared.
Visit the sign up list to bring a dish, or to help with the event.
Trinity is collecting contributions to give to Grey and Carrie as a farewell gift. If you’d like to contribute, please do so by May 30 by mail, during the Sunday offertory, or online. Designate your gift to “Grey and Carrie” (checks should be made payable to Trinity). Donations may be made online by choosing "Special Collections" in the drop down menu, and adding "Grey and Carrie" to the "special instructions".

Trinity's Cookie Walk
Information Meeting at the Rectory
Sunday, May 22, 4-5:30pm
Attention bakers, food fans, and anyone interested in promoting Trinity in our community - you are invited!
On May 22, come to the rectory (2325 Wellington Ave) to enjoy home baked cookies, refreshments, and learn more about Trinity's Cookie Walk. A Holiday Cookie Walk, a staple of the Midwest and South was introduced in a scaled-down version during last year's Alternative Christmas Market. In December 2022, we hope to roll out Trinity's Cookie Walk as its own fundraiser, advertising throughout the community.
We will need a lot of volunteer leaders to help make this happen. Whether you are a cookie baker, or are good at social media, are skilled at arranging, decorating and making things beautiful, excellent at recruiting volunteers, know how to work a calculator, or want to help more people know about our church community, this event is for you.

Meal Ministry in the Park

Men's Group Next Meeting
Monday, June 6, 4-5pm in the Fireside Room
Mission Statement: In building a community where we pray, share, and learn together, we practice vulnerability with each other in order to act justly, show mercy, and walk humbly with our God.
Trinity's Men's Group holds “hybrid” meetings on the first Monday of each month. If you plan to attend in person, no masks are required if you are fully vaccinated but wearing a mask is always a personal option. Trinity Welcomes The Very Rev. Dr. Gary Hall
June 12: Trinity Sunday
Our former Interim Rector, Gary Hall, also Retired Dean of the Washington National Cathedral and Seabury-Western Theological Seminary will be with us as our guest preacher at both services on June 12.
Gary recently preached at the memorial service for George Regas, Rector Emeritus of All Saints Pasadena. Read Gary's sermon here.

Migration Ministries Update
Afghan Resettlement Task Force
In the February issue of the Justice and Outreach Council's monthly digest, we learned about Molly Kellogg and Kathryn Dean's work to help resettle an Afghan family in Santa Barbara, and then in Dallas.
Financial support is needed to continue to support this family. Please read the message from Kathryn Dean to learn more about this effort.

Volunteer Opportunity
Summer Sacred Arts
Diana Small, Director of Children and Youth, is gathering volunteers to work with children in the Parish Hall for Summer Sacred arts every Sunday in summer during the 10am service, starting June 12.
Volunteers would need to arrive by 9:45am and assist helping the children for roughly an hour, until communion time. Activity leaders are also needed. Perhaps you have a creative project to share with the children (visual art, music, sciences, anything creative that piques the spiritual curiosity of the child). A sign-up sheet will be at coffee hour on Sundays or email Diana at dsmall@trinitysb.org if you are interested.

If you would like to receive the Eucharist, but are not coming to Trinity for worship, call (805)965-7419 or email the office to request home communion. One of our eucharistic visitors will set up a time to bring communion to your home.

PATH Fundraiser
Saturday, June 4, 5-8pm
Sunstone Winery in Santa Ynez
John "JB" Bowlin, Associate Director of
Philanthropy & Community Affairs will be with us at the 10am service on Sunday to invite Trinity parishioners to this outdoor event in the Valley.
Proceeds from the fundraiser go towards supportive services for our neighbors experiencing homelessness in Santa Barbara. In the last year, PATH has provided services for more than 18,000+ people and permanently housed more than 1,200 people. Tickets available online and sponsorships are welcome.

100+ indigenous farmworkers for J&G Berry Farms in Santa Maria have been striking since May 1. Support their struggle for just wages by signing a petition at change.org
and/or donating to their gofundme. Follow our friends at SBCAN (Santa Barbara County Action Network) and CAUSE (Central Coast Alliance United for a Sustainable Economy) for updates on this important effort.
