TRANSITION UPDATE

As we enter this time of transition in the life of Trinity, it is our desire to keep you informed along the way. A Transition Team has been formed and is working to define next steps upon the retirement of Rev. Woody Brown.

Woody has selected Sunday, July 24 to be his last day in worship. We will have a retirement celebration following the 10 am worship service that day to say farewell to Woody and his family. There will be more information about this coming soon!

INTERIM HEAD OF STAFF AND

PASTOR NOMINATING COMMITTEE

We are delighted that our own Rev. Mally Baum has agreed to serve as our Interim Head of Staff, beginning Monday, August 1.

Trinity’s Nominating Committee will soon begin choosing a slate of proposed members of the Pastor Nominating Committee (PNC). The congregation will then vote to approve this slate of nominees at a called congregational meeting (date TBD). The PNC will be responsible for the search for a Senior Pastor.

PARISH ASSISTANT

We joyfully welcome back the Rev. Dr. Phyllis Tippit as Trinity’s part-time Parish Assistant. Phyllis will focus on pastoral care. Additionally, she will occasionally preach on Sundays and will continue to teach Disciple Bible Studies. Please help us welcome Phyllis back to the pastoral staff!

VOLUNTEER PARISH ASSOCIATES

We are very thankful that the Rev. Dr. Ralph Graham and the Rev. Dr. Clay Brantley will continue to serve as volunteer Parish Associates. Ralph’s focus is pastoral care and Clay works with the Committee on Racial Equity (CORE).

DIRECTOR OF OUTREACH & ENGAGEMENT

Jen Zaccarella, our Director of Outreach and Engagement, has accepted a position in the front office of her daughters’ school. This timing is purely coincidental and is not related to the pastoral transition. This opportunity will allow Jen to share the same schedule as her children and spend more time focused on family. Her last day in the office will be Friday, July 15, and her presence on staff will be deeply missed. Fortunately, as Jen is a member of Trinity, we will still see her on Sunday mornings, once again able to sit with her family in worship!
