Presbytery Meeting Highlights

Forest Lake Presbyterian Church cordially invites you to celebrate the nation's 250th Anniversary in a thoughtful and thought-provoking way by attending a three-speaker series beginning September 30th.

This Wednesday night speaker series, open to the congregation and the community, will encourage all to consider the roots of our American ethos and government, the cost of the experiment, the influence of Presbyterians on our nation’s governance, and to provoke thoughtful reflection on our future as a nation. Dinner, catered by Southern Way Catering, costs $20 for a single night or $50 for all three nights. Registration will be open first to our church for a week and then to the community. Spots are limited so make sure you register as soon as possible! For more information see the flyer.

Create Your Own Collaboration Grant

This DRT grant offers up to $1,000 to support innovative collaborative faith formation initiatives between PC(USA) congregations and/or ecumenical partners. Applications are due by October 1 for grants to be awarded in November 2026. Find form using the following link: CYOC GRANT APPLICATION

The Discipleship and Resource Team has been busy promoting and/or sponsoring events, as well as providing resources to fulfill its mission to:


1. encourage faith formation for all people, 2. connect congregations and individuals

with educational resources,

3. support life-long discipleship and
 education,

4. provide opportunities for congregationa

leaders to establish coaching or

mentoring relationships with colleagues,

and

5. encourage the practice of good

stewardship of God's creation through

environmental stewardship,

programming, and ministry.

OPPORTUNITIES TO SERVE IN YOUTH MINISTRY

South Aiken Presbyterian Church, located at 1711 Whiskey Rd, in Aiken, SC 29803, is currently hiring for a Youth Ministry Programs Coordinator!


This position is a non-exempt, part-time, hourly position, with flexibility to set your own hours during the weekday and some set hours on Sundays and a few other occasional occurrences.


Requirements include experience participating and coordinating youth events; an ability to relate to youths (6th - 12th grade) while also maintaining an appropriate professional distance; an understanding of biblical knowledge and an ability to engage with these fundamentals with our youth; and strong leadership skills such as organization, time management, dependability, etc.

Guns to Gardens Event, Saturday September 26th


McGregor Presbyterian Church, located at 6505 St. Andrews Rd, Columbia, SC, 29212, is sponsorig a *Guns to Gardens event at the church on Saturday. September 26th, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.


*Anonymous Disposal/Recycling of Unwanted Firearms

Details:

10:30 a.m. - 12: 30 p.m.

Gun Disposal (Campus restricted to gun donors and authorized volunteers).

Gun donors must remain in their vehicle.

Firearms must be unloaded, in working order, and stored in the trunk or back of vehicle.

Firearm donors will receive gift cards donation, while they last.

Firearms will be dismantled and cut up while the donor is present.

Later the remaining metal will be used to create garden tools, art, and jewelry by Raw Tools South.
