June 12, 2021 | Trinity Sunday
Join us this Sunday!
Sunday Morning Worship
Join us for worship this Sunday at 9 a.m. or 11 a.m.* in our historic sanctuary, where we will mark Trinity Sunday! We hope to see you at whatever service fits your schedule this weekend.

*11 a.m. service also live-streamed. By entering the church at 11 a.m., you consent to being filmed, as well as its release as desired by CC+WP. More information linked below.

Children's Ministries
Kids of all ages are joyfully welcomed at CC+WP during both services. We also offer Children's Chapel at 9 a.m., and nursery care for our younger children during both Sunday services.

Sunday School and Youth Group are on this week. Join us for the last two weeks of gathering before summer break begins!

Sunday Growler Fills Suspended
We'll be taking a few weeks off of refills while your Brew Crew readies its summer offerings. Watch for a prerelease event later this month!
General Announcements
Celebrate July 4th with us!
We are tentatively signed up to walk in the Barracks Row July 4th parade as a community but we need to gauge interest. All ages are welcome - we'll just be walking the few blocks from the highway to the metro plaza at 10 a.m., and tossing beads or candy to the crowd. Please let us know if you'd be willing to walk by signing up here.

Additionally, join us from 4-6 p.m. on the front lawn for grilling & celebration before the fireworks! Hot dogs, hamburgers and veggie burgers provided; please bring a side or dessert to share, and a blanket to sit on! Willing to help set up or clean up? Let us know here.
SUMMER BINGO for kiddos!
Want to win cool prizes and have fun this summer? Grab a Christ Church bingo card! The card is full of activities for kids that will help them learn, grow, and pray on summer break. Hard copies of the cards will be out in the parish hall during the 10 a.m. coffee hour for the rest of the summer - pick one up or download & print at home! (This is intended for kids, but kids-at-heart are also welcome to participate.)
Any graduates at home?
Do you have a child or relative who has graduated this spring? We would love to feature them, their upcoming plans, and share prayers in our next newsletter! Send responses to Katie.
Sign up for a Calvary Dinner!
Christ Church provided dinner twice this month for the women in Calvary's transitional housing. Thanks to Jennifer Brunk, Ruth Kroeger, Linda Mellgren, Doris Robinson, Karen Wilson Roman, and Chris Wilson for providing the delicious food, and to Barb and Del Crandall for making it all happen! Please consider signing up to provide food in July or later this year!
Water flats for our neighbors in need!
From now through Labor Day, we will again be collecting flats of water for Shirley's Place, the day shelter run by our longtime partner Everyone Home DC, to keep our neighbors hydrated and cool throughout the hot summer months. Sixteen or 20-ounce bottles preferred; please bring them to the designated table in the Parish Hall any time. Thank you in advance!
Friday Night Film Series
The group is off the next two weeks but join us June 24 at 7 p.m. to discuss Something’s Gotta Give (2003), a romantic comedy starring Diane Keaton and Jack Nicholson, as we continue our fun and light-hearted summer movies. Contact Paul Laymon with questions, or simply join via Zoom.
Men's Spirituality Group
Join us any Saturday from 9-10 a.m. for conversation and community - in person or via Zoom! Email Paul Laymon with questions.
What is a Pentecost moment? Hear Rev. John describe the thin places where the distance between heaven and earth seems to shorten, and we can better sense the divine around us. Hold onto his reminder that we can make even the simplest of our daily actions thin moments of connection to God, ourselves, and one another.

Past sermons are always on our website.
