JUNE 6, 2025

Hello St. Martin’s,

Did you know that the Episcopal Church has seven days designated as the most important celebrations of the church year? Can you name all seven? There’s Christmas and Easter, you probably got those. But then there’s a few more too! There’s also All Saints' Day in November and Epiphany on January 6 where the Magi come to baby Jesus with gold, frankincense and myrrh. Don’t forget Ascension Day—always a very uplifting celebration and we just had some spirited Pentecost worship last Sunday. The seventh—it’s Trinity Sunday!

That’s right Trinity Sunday is one of the “Big 7” celebrations of the church year and it comes this Sunday, June 15. We’ll break out the shiny white vestments again, we’ll have some special trinity themed hymns. AND….I will be offering a “pop up” adult formation session on the Trinity this Sunday at 9:00 a.m. in the parish hall. Grab a cup of coffee and come on back for a great discussion. The doctrine of the Trinity is tricky—Wait! How is there one God, but three persons? What’s the deal with that? You’re invited to come on Sunday in between services to discuss, ask questions, and to find out more.

I look forward to seeing everyone this Sunday to celebrate the mystery of God—one God in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, who loves you, who saves you, and who makes all things new!

Yours in Christ,

~ The Rev. Nathan Erdman, Associate Rector and Chaplain
