All courses run from 7-9pm either on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday or Thursday (see link to course offerings).

Single Service on September 6th!

Trinity will have a single service at 10am on Sunday, September 6 as part of Labor Day weekend. Join us as we gather as one to to worship our Lord!

Oktoberfest Tickets, T-Shirts, and Volunteer Sign Up!

Good news! It's time to start getting ready for Oktoberfest!

Oktoberfest is Trinity's annual festival where through God's grace we seek to celebrate and serve our community! We typically have well over 1000 people in attendance. This year, Oktoberfest will be held on October 3rd 2026. You can buy purchase tickets ($4 in advance. They will be $5 at the door the day of the festival) and t-shirts (one for $20 and 2 for $30) in Hanberry Hall in between services. The sign-up sheets will be available in between services in Hanberry Hall as well, or you can click the link to sign up online.

As a reminder, all proceeds above cost for Oktoberfest will be donated to the Lilburn Co-op.

Lutheran World Relief Ingathering Volunteer Opportunities

Once again we are hosting the metro Atlanta Lutheran World Relief Ingathering. Quilts & Kits will be dedicated at both worship services on August 9th. On Saturday, August 22nd from 9-11am, we will work to be sure Trinity's boxes are labeled, weighed, and packed securely. We need volunteers to help with this; you can sign up to help on the link in this announcement. Then, on August 28 & 29, we will load all of metro Atlanta's donations (and Trinity's of course) onto the truck that Averitt Trucking will provide. In 2025 this amounted to over 6,000 lbs. So we need your help!

Support LeRoy Kennedy in Ragtime!

Our very own LeRoy Kennedy, Contemporary Worship Leader and Handbell Choir Director, is taking the stage as one of the leads in Ragtime at Marietta’s Theater in the Square!

We would love to show LeRoy our support by attending a performance and cheering him on! Ragtime is a wonderful opportunity to see LeRoy share his talents in a whole new way!

Nominations for Trinity's Leadership Team & Audit Committee

Trinity's Nominating Committee would like to make everyone aware of Leadership opportunities that will be open starting in 2027. Besides the Pastors, the Leadership team consists of ten members of the congregation that are elected to serve for three years. The leadership roles are staggered to help continuity, so every year we fill three different positions. Currently serving are the the following:

Adult Bible Class Starting Wednesday September 9

Pastor Scott will be leading a journey through the New Testament starting on September 9 at 6:30pm in the parlor. This year-long class will explore the writings and themes of the New Testament and how they apply to our lives today. The resource being used is "The Bible For Dummies" - you can order on your own or check with Pastor Scott. Please join us as we journey through the sacred Scriptures of the New Testament!

Wednesday Night Programs Return September 9!

We’re excited to kick off another season of midweek connection and spiritual growth—Wednesday night programs return on September 9th!

🍽 Dinner begins at 5:30 PM in Hanberry Hall – Gather for good food and great fellowship.

👧🧒 Kids Following Christ runs from 6:00–7:00 PM – Our youngest friends will enjoy an hour of faith-filled fun and learning.

📖 Adult Bible Study is from 6:30–7:30 PM – Come ready to dig into scripture and share in meaningful discussion and prayer.

Let’s grow, learn, and journey in faith together. We can’t wait to see you there—bring a friend or neighbor along, too!

Wednesday Night Celebrate Dinners Begin on September 9th!

Welcome back Trinity! It's time for Wednesday Night Celebrate activities on September 9th! We have something for all ages on Wednesday nights and it all begins with dinner at 5:30 pm. We need YOU to help provide those dinners! We appreciate all of the groups who lended a hand last school year.

August Green Team News!

August is National Water Quality Month. Water has such symbolism in Christianity, and we often remember and pray over the water of our baptism. But do we think about the gift of water when we turn on the tap to drink, cook, or bathe? We are blessed indeed with access to clean water, but many of our state and national waterways are under threat and are rated “impaired” under the standards of the Clean Water Act. Given the issues with the USPS recently, we wanted to touch on ways to give to the church online. If you prefer to give to the church via check, please bring it on Sunday and place in the offering plate, or drop off in the church office during business hours.

• Use Simply Giving, an automated giving program. Download enrollment form and return to the office.

• Send money via Zelle. Add recipient Trinity Lutheran Church with the email ap@tlc-lilburn.org. Use the memo line to indicate what/why you are giving to the church.

Men's Breakfast for September **Date Change**

Men’s breakfast will be held on September 12 at 8:30 AM in Shepherds Hall downstairs. We are having the breakfast on the second Saturday because of Labor Day falling on the first weekend. As always a great breakfast will be supplied with plenty of hardy breakfast food items including eggs, bacon, sausage patties, SPAM, biscuits, hash browns and grits. Please put the date on your calendar and join us for some good eats and fellowship! Also, we will be helping with Adopt-A-Road that day after Men’s Breakfast. So, sign up for this event if you are interested.

New Adult Sunday School Class starts August 16: Paul's Letter to the Romans

What must we do to be saved? Does it matter how we live? Where is God when we suffer? What does God want from us? Join us as we explore these and other questions through Paul’s letter to the Romans. Adult Sunday school meets at 9:45 a.m. in the Parlor and via Zoom.

The Grief Support Group meets on the 3rd Thursday of the month from 11:00am - 12:00pm. Our next meeting will be Thursday, September 17th. Habitat for Humanity Volunteers Needed this Saturday!

Habitat for Humanity is looking for volunteers to help with a new home from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday 8/29/26 at 4371 Vernon Street, Lilburn. The work will involve landscaping, yard and site preparation and exterior finish work. No experience is necessary! Habitat for Humanity will provide the tools and lunch. Bring closed-toed shoes, comfortable clothes, work gloves and a refillable water bottle.

God's Work, Our Hands Weekend Coming Soon!

God's Work, Our Hands Weekend is coming up Saturday, September 12 to Sunday, September 13, 2026. This weekend provides various opportunities to live out our call as disciples of Christ through serving and loving our neighbors.

We are called to serve others in response to the grace of God that is freely given to us. Together, let's use our time, talents, and treasures in service to others. Below are a few ways you can help out now; look for an email in the coming weeks outlining all of the opportunities available for God's Work, Our Hands Weekend.

Our Children's Sunday School classes will be spreading a little sweetness and kindness by assembling Cookie Jars for the Lilburn Co-op during class time on Sunday, September 13, 2026 as part of God's Work, Our Hands Weekend.

To make this project a success, we need your help! We're collecting bags of semi-sweet chocolate chips to complete our cookie jar ingredients.

If you'd like to contribute, please drop off your donation in the designated collection bin located in Hanberry Hall by Saturday, September 12.

Lutheran World Relief Personal Care Kits

Collecting items August 9 to September 12, 2026

On God’s Work, Our Hands Day, September 13, 2026, the Women of the ELCA will be hosting the assembly of LWR Personal Care Kits. During this past year these kits were shipped to Ukraine, Angola, Mali, Serbia, Venezuela, and the United States (Texas, North Carolina, Florida, Tennessee), and other places which have experienced recent crises.  LWR needs to replenish their supply of Personal Care Kits. You can help by donating any of the items listed below and leaving your donations in the designated bin in Hanberry Hall. We invite the congregation and friends of Trinity to join us assembling LWR Personal Care Kits in Hanberry Hall between worship services on September 13th.

**We have already purchased 100 combs, 100 toothbrushes, and 100 large toenail clippers with a Thrivent Action Team and a generous donation.**

Items to donate:

• NEW light-weight bath-size towels - dark colors recommended
• 4 oz bath size bars of soap

There is a bin under the map bulletin board in Hanberry Hall to place your items.

Grace House (Lutheran Campus Ministries at GA Tech) Collection

We are collecting items to support Grace House for the students in the Georgia Tech community. We plan to gather them for delivery on God’s Work Our Hands Sunday.

Adopt-A-Road Clean Up September 12th

In conjunction with the God's Work Our Hands weekend, we will be having another Adopt-A-Road cleanup on Saturday September 12th.

Exciting News from The Green Team

We reached our goal of collecting 1000 pounds of plastic and have received a bench! Thank you to everyone who helped us achieve this goal, and for keeping 1000 pounds of plastic out of landfills. 

We will no longer be collecting plastic towards a goal. However, we can continue to collect plastic as a convenience for you if we have your help. We need people who are willing to take the plastic from the bin at church to a drop off location such as Publix, Target, or Walmart and put the plastic in the bins there. Love Offering For August - Backpack Buddies

The Backpack Buddies program provides elementary school

children who qualify for free or reduced-price meals a sack of healthy and easy-to-prepare foods. The sack is for the weekend when students are not at school and don’t have access to the free-meal program. For many of these children, school meals may be the only reliable meals they eat during the week.

We are partnering with Shiloh Elementary School to support 20 children. Place your donations in the Backpack Buddies bin in Hanberry Hall or you can contribute funds and we'll do the shopping. Just put Backpack Buddies on the memo of your payment.

The most needed items are:

• Milk - individual, shelf-stable (example: horizon or fairlife)
• Juice boxes (like capri-sun or kool-aid)
• Small individual boxes of cereal or Oatmeal packets
• Chef Boyardee meals
• Jif to Go (peanut butter) packs
• Vegetables - like Libby’s 4pks (Walmart has the best price) or Kroger brand
• Granola Bars/Raisins individual boxes
• Apple sauce cups or fruit cups
