FINE ARTS FESTIVAL
FRIDAY, 4/12/19
We would like to take this opportunity to give you some updates about the annual Fine Arts Festival on
Friday, April 12th, 2019
. There is
no school for Pre-School through 4th grade
on the day of the Festival, but
Middle School students have a day filled with many musical opportunities
as students from 10+ schools gather for this event. The time commitment for
Middle School students
is
from 8:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
There are five commitments throughout the day that all middle school students need to participate in (two mass rehearsals, the judging of their school group, the final concert, and their assigned clean up jobs at the end). Each one of these contributes to their grade for the day.
Vocalists and instrumentalists will be able to participate in a Mass Choir and/or Mass Band and Mass Bell Choir, as well as, perform solo and/or ensemble selections before judges who will critique their performances. Additional events included in the Fine Arts Festival daytime activities, but not included in the evening portion of the day are: 2D or 3D art projects & Creative Writing submissions which will be on display. The day begins with opening devotions and ends with a final concert highlighting the Mass Band, Mass Choir, Mass Bell Choir and solos/ensembles that are selected based on the recommendation of the judges.
The schedule for the day is as follows:

If you are available to help with set up on Thursday, April 11th, or during the festival on Friday, April 12th, (as judge’s assistants, hall monitors, and lunch/dinner helpers) please contact
Mrs. Katy Wells
. We will be posting a sign up sheet on the City as well. We need LOTS of help for this very busy day, and volunteering does not obligate you to spend the entire day-please let us know if you could offer a few hours during the day/evening and what times you could be available. This would help us immensely with some challenging scheduling issues.
